  1. It doesn’t really matter, Duke is slowly/soon bringing in more people with the Progress merger lease expiring I believe in 2019. They’ll need the space, and it’ll be sooner than later. If they save face and help a spec building get off the ground so be it. No matter what they’ll need a lot more space soon. The question is do they save face and not build on their expensive lot or just help a spec building get off the ground to meet their needs?
  2. Redevelopment has begun on the Squires Building not sure what the end product will be. Anyone got the scoop on it?
  3. In the CBJ today, an article with Spectrum mentions they’re working on a project in South End, Class A office. Anyone know anything about that?
  4. Also another project I’m very excited to learn the flag for. My uneducated guess is 4-5 star brand.
  5. This is one of my three favorite projects, I’m very excited for this to break ground. This will kill once opened.
  6. My best guess is a tenant kicked out of BofA Corporate Center that isn’t an accountant firm. I’m guessing they have someone as well.
  7. Ricky for the love of God please tell me the leading design for the new Duke Tower isn’t matching the exterior of Duke Energy Center? Downtown already has too much of a campus feel, i.e. BofA Corporate and Hearst Tower. I like us adding a new ornate building that looks similar to PPG Place, but damn can we not have the exterior match its neighbor.
  8. The Rail Yards have their anchor tenant, which is good news. I think after the fiasco of me saying the anchor tenant for Ally Center, I’ll just leave it at that. Seems like South End is a much more desirable office submarket than I imagined.
  9. Can anyone confirm if the current construction at Central and Clement will ultimately include the lighted intersection ? This section to cross is so dangerous.
  10. Anyone know the details on the retail/office project going up on Pecan behind Fuel Pizza?
  11. Is the lighted crosswalk being installed across central from the shopping center to Clement? It seems like that is the construction going on. Also, sidewalk is being installed on the missing portions at Commonwealth and Pecan.
  12. Anyone know if they work with LITTLE on this if they can just reuse the original Tryon Place design. Seeing that old photo on the other chain reminded how great the first iteration looked. It would be a shame for it to go unused.
  13. Yes, I believe Duke was the original anchor tenant. They were able to buy the plot of land next to the convention center and decided they'd rather be in control of their own land instead of leasing from Crecent. We now get to wait and see what Duke comes up with, I'd think it would be pretty soon, as they were really close to signing at Tryon Place. As many have said on here I believe there leased space at Duke Energy Tower is rolling soon.
  14. Think I like it better than Legacy Tower, just judging by the renderings and description.
  15. I heard months ago and didn't believe it that Amazon was looking for a 1 million + of sqft of office around Charlotte, particularly Ballantyne. Maybe that actually has some legs now seeing this. Still can't imagine them picking Ballantyne if they were to come here.
  16. If that is the new design, I've got to say I like it. IMO, the rendering looks nicer than the Lincoln Harris deal.
  17. So I'm guessing the aforementioned tower that was hinted at with the new deck news belongs to this spec office tower?
  18. So this would be in addition to the residential building too? Would they aim to break ground on them in tandem?
  19. Tenant improvement allowance, that's a lot per square foot.
  20. It's Bank of America and a law firm (I believe Moore & Van Allen), that is getting the building preleased enough to break ground.
  21. I like the stadium interior rendering, pretty good setup and great view. I think the Smith's will go hard after this, especially facing the fact NASCAR has plateaued and seems to have lost some people if anything. If I was them I'd be trying to diversify my holdings and what better to try and ride than MLS for awhile. Just my 2 cents.
  22. They need to make a major trade, or blowup the squad and restart again around Kemba, we are starting to look like an 8 seed at best.
  23. Guess now we wait and see if the Smith's will pony up the city's share and proceed. I'm really unsure what will happen, I definitely think the city council wasn't expecting to vote, from the odd reaction of canceling a meeting via Tweet. I think the deal won't work in Concord, think that won't be strong enough against the 10 other cities. Especially, when they've said they won't look at suburban locations for expansion. Edit: from what I can tell they have the right to build on Memorial, they just will need to pick up the extra $43 mill the city isn't giving them.
