  1. Clearly the city needs to hire some more consultants to study the problem. They can drag out a few more years of proposals easily.
  2. ahh yes Consulting. noun: grift; a petty or small-scale swindle.
  3. I appreciate that it is certainly different and not just another generic building - and given the hellscape that is Independence Blvd I suppose it kinda fits right in.
  4. Come sit and enjoy the noise and exhaust from a parade of cars inches from your face, and hope that some distracted driver doesn't wipe you off the face of the earth. Relaxing!
  5. Recently rented a Chevy Bolt EUV to drive back from ATL to CLT and found it to be really great. First time driving a pure EV and the overall performance was fantastic. Had it over the weekend and charged it once at a mall parking lot which had free chargers but were slow, and then a second time at a fast charger where it took about an hour and $12 to charge up to 80-85% from about 30%
  6. or build hard barriers that prevent cars from ever entering a bike lane ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  7. is this entire thing just a parking deck?
  8. ^^ truly fantastic news. Who would have guessed that people love having complete freedom to relax, engage in work, or even nap, on a fast, vastly safer alternative to spending hours in a car where you are forced to alternate between hyper-focus so that you literally don't die from everyone doing 60-80 mph , and then coming to a stand still / crawl in traffic jams, that still rob you of your attention because you must still remain focused on the task at hand of inching along bumper to bumper.
  9. This is hilarious. Is it going to be a digital billboard?
  10. Yeah sorry should have specified - I don't think this project in particular is in any peril - but just overall the market for older towers in Uptown is going to be in limbo. I couldn't find the other thread with the discussion around converting older office buildings to potential residential uses etc.
  11. https://www.newsweek.com/crash-worse-2008-crisis-predicted-commercial-real-estate-1792758 Ho Hum. Life goes on.
  12. Pretty sure they were talking about the Silver Line 10 years ago, so…. yeah good luck getting rail to Ballantyne in the first half of this century.
  13. Houston! Amazing, way to go! reclaim streets for people. imagine that.
  14. to twist a phrase... "frankly my dear, some people just give a damn"
  15. If ever there was a prime candidate to close to cars...
  16. oh man I love how tiny it is. curb weight looks to be around 2000 pounds? amazing
