Neat pictures. I really like the look of waterfront streets in Norfolk, and I was bowled over by the Freemason district. Would like to see more pictures of that area.

looks like they fixed and renovated the leaning building. I was getting worried it would tip and take out the Royster which would be a huge lose to the city cause the Royster is the building I loved the most in Norfolk. Second to that would be the BBT bank building on Main.

One of my main goals when I visited Norfolk last week was to get some good skyline shots. Here are my best efforts. Larger sizes are available on my flickr account but I'm in the middle of reorganizing so maybe give it a few hours before you try to log on there. My profile name is christopher_j_goss.

Also, while I was out there was an awful lot of traffic on the Elizabeth River, which I tried to document.

My God! I need a new hard drive to hold this stuff. These are wonderful shots of my favorite vistas, as well as some I haven't seen. Great pictures of a working port at work, and the winter light on the water is just magical. Thank you so much.

WOW! I love these shots, especially the skyline shots from Portsmouth and the various in-town vistas. I think Norfolk is becoming so polished and clean that it's a pleasure to see the new skyline draped in dark gray clouds!

I don't know if this has already been posted or discussed on this forum, but Microsoft Live Local's failure to have the most recently updated satellite imagery available makes it a nice source for historic aerial shots of downtown Norfolk circa early 1990's. Check out this before and after I made with a Live Local aerial photo and a Google Maps aerial photo; it really shows with impact the planning produced in downtown Norfolk.

WOW look how much more color the new Norfolk has compared to the old! . But seriously, you can see more dense and alive Norfolk is with harbor park, 150 main, Nauticus and all of the other developments over the last decade.
