Charlotte Photo of the Day

I found these awesome photos by DJ Mavic from April of 2019.   The QC is one of the few cities where eight month old skyline photos are outdated, but there’re still amazing.

I once visited Mexico City.  Flew there in the morning and wandered during the rest of the day. Something bothered me while I walked. Disoriented, but not jet lag. The day was sunny but something seemed...off. I could not say what it was. Realized that my shadow was different than when I left Charlotte. Charlotte 35º N. Mexico City 19º N. Once I had the reason for my disorientation I was fine. It seems meaningless until one experiences it, my shadow is part of me.

I've never visited the southern hemisphere, and I always wondered if the south-facing shadows would feel bizarre.

I always thought it would be weird to be standing upside-down all the time.

this is why you are not seeing many photos from anyone the last few days especially me.  from the OxBlue of Legacy 2 and Ally.  for y'all you dont like the pyramid of the BOAT or the top hat of Ally this is your day!

That first pic almost doesn't even look like Charlotte. Seeing only a small section of the skyline in one shot makes the city feel even bigger.

Move over Nashvegas Charlotte's newest tourist attraction what I call TankHenge at the Camp North End.  I will stop by and take close ups later.  

Rumor is that at the summer solstice you can see a large QuikTrip coffee hovering over the skyline.

Yeah. I’ve been obsessed with these traffic cams since you first linked them. Whoever was on the stick today, had some great closeups too.

The weather actually cleared up for a little bit last night! Definitely ready for some sunny days though.

For twenty years the Diamond was owned and run by identical twins Ralph and Robert James. Yes, another twin restaurant. One in the front and one in the kitchen, usually. The Diamond had all booth tables with a few spinning stools at the counter. The booths had simple tables with a single leg at the middle of the table at the server side. I was in the restaurant two times where someone kicked the single leg and it collapsed the table and sent all the meals and dishes to the floor in a clatter in the smallish business.

what a difference does 4 years make.   this is the best example of Charlotte Rising in the last decade these 2 blocks.  sorry that photo is blurry I will add another one LOL.

couple more since my top photo above is blurry.  I present the Queen City from different angles all today.   4th photo the photo from my mirror I call Heading Westbound and down! 

as for the Wanderwall I hear the view is fantastic from the Home2Suite pool area.

This angle really makes the city look super compact.

Love this.  This was put together by Wachovia as a promo.  Notice all the prominent ‘Wachovia’ branches featured amongst local landmarks.  Very cool.

I figured the creator just sold slots on a first come-first serve basis to whichever businesses wanted to be a sponsor. WBT is also featured prominently.
