  1. It looks like the rubble is just cinder block. I hope you are right and they plan to reassemble it. It makes for a nice entrance to the neighborhood Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Does anyone know what they are doing in the median at the Plaza/Parkwood intersection? I am disappointed they tore down the historic plaza midwood sign. A bunch of crepe myrtles were cut down too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Does anyone know what they are doing in the median at the Plaza/Parkwood intersection? 3. Which properties does Levine own in Plaza? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Isn’t steel cheaper than concrete? I’d love to know the answer here too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Signage up today for this project and it’s not townhomes, but a boutique office building called 1800 Central. Pretty cool to see a spec office building in PM. Anyone know anything about it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. A “feed the homeless” community garden would actually be an amazing use of that lot! I could see that idea gaining momentum on social media like Queens Park. And unlike that it doesn’t require any meaningful public funds, just a temporary license agreement with Levine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Honeywell is a worse offender in that regard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Does anyone know what’s under construction at the corner of Nandina and Central across from Harris Teeter? There is a crane on site today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Mhm v BBC cI pm m NC GHIN c p Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. that’s the Foard construction building on Pecan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. That sign above the front door is awesome! Looks like ancient Roman/pagan/Belle Acres vibes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Does anyone know why they left a gap between the building and the edge of the deck? Or if it will be obscured somehow once finished? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I’d like it if the stadium was incorporated into the neighborhood/surrounding buildings more like the Real Madrid inspiration in the YouTube. This reminds me of the Gulch and Mercedes Benz in Atlanta which misses the mark, in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I agree. And I look at Stonewall street now and see Uptown 550 and think man, that’s an attractive building. Particularly next to Novel which looks incredibly VE’d and half cocked. Northwood Ravin builds nice deals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. This is one of my favorite projects in Charlotte for a number of reasons. 1. Apartments and office in the same tower 2. Extension of the skyline and surrounding of RB park 3. Parking garage is wrapped in glass, like the old Wachovia buildings were. So it’s completely hidden not just screened. 4. Another logo on a tower that will see panthers stadium blimp coverage. Good advertising for the QC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Based on the site plan it looks like 1 of the 3 buildings is going to be preserved but the others are demolished? Can someone confirm? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Meiselman just bought the Boston Market and adjacent retail complex on Providence plus a similar neighborhood center on Selwyn. But I agree they seem to be passive owners. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Across from Savona Mill. Anyone know if these are original street cars? Looks like they are protected behind that fence so maybe they are being incorporated into the renovation? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I think you’re remembering 615 S College - China Orient Asset Management and China Summit Capital were Portman’s equity partners and PCCP provided the construction loan. PCCP is a fund manager, they may have Chinese LPs but they are not Chinese-backed per say. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. The Builders Building will be fine. First Pres owns that lot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ok that’s awesome. It was hard to tell. I still wish it were more like a street cafe with indoor/outdoor seating. But the bar will be great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I feel like there was a missed opportunity not having one of the restaurants open to the park with outdoor/patio seating Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I don’t know who Beacon’s capital partner is on this, but it’s possible they financed it internally (the founder is HNW) which is why they can take a design-driven, long term approach to the properties they develop. Childress Klein is capitalized similarly. Crescent and Lincoln Harris both partner with hot, opportunistic equity that cares about maintaining a low basis in projects (cheap) and making a quick profit. Architecture and how a building fits into the fabric of the city aren’t a consideration for those equity groups. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I agree I think this deck will blend into the block/project much better than what we’re seeing Uptown Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Any detail on the plans or where this was originally documented? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
