This comment is from the Statesboro Hearings topic and refers to the property that Jennings Construction is in the process of clearing.

Sketch plans provided for the hearing showed 4 commercial lots along 301 north and 124, R-10 single family lots in the rear. Those numbers are subject to change based on wetlands deliniation, topographic survey and final design layout.

I thought that the Chili's was going to be located in the Holiday Inn. I was told that there would be a major restuarant in the hotel, and then I was told again that a Chili's was going to be put in the hotel - but according to the floorplan - it is a stand alone building with a parking lot around it, but the map isnt much help either - it places the chili's right where the hotel should be.

So what exactly do we know about Brannen Crossing, other than big-box stores and restaurants? Do we know anybody who is interested in coming? Who are the developers? How far down Brannen Street does this go?

I know one of the local real estate agents is somehow involved, and Target is a possibility. That's it.

andremurra, I'm assuming you got that tidbit from your source. You have the best source in all of the boro.

May's Planning Commission meeting will have some clues into the Brannen Crossing Development. Keep an eye out for a follow up post in the "Public Hearing" topic for additional details

Has anybody noticed since they added on to the Franklin lot, how extremely close the Holiday Inn is going to be? It looks like there won't be much space between the two parking lots.

But the Target tidbit came from a different source, a business owner in the area. He/she was very specific about the date - 2009. So I dont know when we will hear an announcement, probably not until sometime next year. But we should def keep typing things in google like "target bid statesboro" etc. to get the info sooner rather than later. For several years though, sources have been saying that Target is coming to the Brannen Crossing tract. It seems like the logical place, but itll be nice to see it in print sometime soon. I have seen several projects in print as well as siteplans and such that have not been announced yet. For Statesboro, these things take time. Im very surprised that they still havent made an announcement about the 67 hotel.

Richard Toms Gray, GA Yes I am currently building a restaurant in Statesboro, and plan to move there in the next 4 months. As a local business owner, I would definitely support the move to Division 1. Please contact me and let me know how I can help! This would be an excellent boost for the local economy.

Based on the article at this link... http://www.thebaldwinbulletin.com/2004/Apr...es/119_0429.htm

I'm going to make an educated guess that the restaurant in question is "Chops" coming to the southwest corner of West Main and South Walnut. They have been working on renovating the building for several months now.

The old Burger King is finally getting a new tenant. Renovations will be starting soon to turn it into a Bojangles. What's interesting is that it's right next door to Popeyes.

Ex-Capitan Joe's and Chef Roe's is being turned into a Japanese restaurant. One of those where they cook at your table would do killer here.
