I just heard he will be out for two months with a dislocated elbow. It was not his throwing arm. Actually on that particular play his leg/knee got twisted up when a player rolled from the ground on it. That was a scary play. I was not all that thrilled about Brees playing in the meaningless showcase game. This is why!

Did yall see the hit on that fake punt??? Sean Taylor smashed punter Moorman.

That dunk from an alley-oop pass from out of bounds to win the game at the buzzer last night by Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic was sick!!!

These extra cirricular events with these athlete's getting injured seems common place now.

Houston Astro All-Star Lance Berkman missed the the first-half of the season last year after blowing his knee out in a flag-football game. LSU Football players have hurt themselves badly playing basketball games in the past too.

It's great to see Reggie Bush as a N.O. Saint...but he certainly did his new home team state's university no favors. Convincing top recruit Joe McKnight to go to USC instead of LSU; that wasn't very cool.

Wow, that doesn't suprise me at all. The Raiders cut Brooks to save $5 million, and it's $5 million very well saved. Aaron Brooks can retire from the NFL as a very rich man, what, with the $36 million the Saints wasted on him and all. And the thing is, he really didn't play well enough to deserve any of it.

Congrats to the LSU men's basketball team! The Tigers upset #3 Florida at home today, 66-56. It's been a very bad year for the men's basketball team, but you've got to take the good stuff when you get it. Still, the Tigers pretty much have to win the SEC Tournament to get into the NCAA Tournament. If they go one-and-out in the SEC Tourney, they may not even find themselves in the NIT. So hopefully they pick up their play when it matters.

Yes congrats to LSU!!! What makes it even more interesting they have been without Glen Davis too. Last Tuesday Night they jumped on Kentucky 28-12 but blew it. They have lost too many close games they had leads on this year.

Two more regular season games left before the SEC Tournament.

Ouuuchhh -_- Joe Horn was asked to be released today by the N.O. Saints after being asked to take a $pay-cut. He will shop his value to other teams; it's still possible he could end up being a Saint once again if he gets no better offers??

I am sad about this, but the NFL is a nasty business sometimes. Joe Horn has been good for the team and the community. I will miss him if he does not return to the Saints.

It's all around the NFL...ex 2,000 yard rusher Jamal Lewis was released by the Ravens; QB-Jeff Garcia was released by the Eagles after leading them to a 6 and 2 record and the playoffs. Many others too...

There was still a chance that Joe Horn could return to the Saints if he wasn't picked up by anyone else, but that is long gone now. Even if Joe isn't picked up by another team, which is very unlikely anyway, he pretty much burned his bridges with the team this morning on WWL 870 AM in New Orleans, saying "I am leaving New Orleans because this city is not big enough for Sean Payton and Joe Horn."

Well, Joe, it's sad to see you go. You're a huge fan favorite, and hopefully you remember that the city of New Orleans and its residents still love you. You've been a tremendous leader for the Saints on and off the field for the last 7 years, and in that same time you managed to become one hell of a reciever. You'll long be remembered as the most vocal Saint when it came to bringing the team back to New Orleans, something that's appreciated more than you can imagine by everyone in New Orleans. Best of luck to you, wherever you end up.

Joe Horn looks like he may sign with NFC South arch-rival Atlanta Falcons. I wish Joe the best and hope he won't be disapointed with Mike Vick's erratic throwing ability. He has a few good years in him if he can remain healthy.

A late shout-out to the LSU basketball team for winning a thrilling, hard fought game vs. #22 Tennessee in the 1st round of the SEC Tournament in Atlanta on Thursday Night! The Tigers won 76-67 in OT. Eventhough the game had no business going to OT with the worst call of the season. Glen "Big Baby" Davis turned it on in the 2nd half and OT finishing with 25 pts. and 15 rebounds. Terry Martin had 15 pts. including three 3 pointers. Guard Garrett Temple had a stellar defensive performance with 5 blocked shots. It was a good team effort, Magnum Rolle and Darnell Lazare also had solid games with 10 and 12 points respectively.

LSU is about to take on Ole Miss in the Quarterfinal round tonight. Hopes to avenge what happened in Oxford a couple of weeks ago!

It's still early. The Rebels lead 8-5.

LSU came out ice cold and seem to be deflated from last night's overtime game. LSU was blown out by Ole Miss 80-60.

Now LSU can only hope for perhaps an NIT bid. It has been a disapionting and frustrating season to say the least after reaching the Final Four last season. They just can't seem to put it together. The Tigers really need to search for a point guard.

In an attempt to revive the dead sports forum...

"MARCH MADNESS"

The SEC looked solid in the 1st Round winning 4 out of 5 games. And three teams Florida, Vandy, and Tennessee will be going to the "Sweet 16"!!!

It was nice to see New Orleans playing host to the games this weekend! Memphis sure had lots of rabid fans!

A very entertaining weekend of College Basketball...esp. yesterday!

A bit frustrating to see LSU with their disapionting season managed to beat Tennessee, Florida, and Texas A&M all headed to the Sweet 16.

It sure was, Richy! All of the teams playing in New Orleans brought plenty of fans, and they all had a great time in New Orleans. However, the fact that these games were played on Saint Patricks Day weekend in New Orleans, which is essentially a smaller version of Mardi Gras in this city, contributed to the fact that the Arena wasn't full for all of the games. Most New Orleanians were out in the Quarter or in the Irish Channel having a good time, myself included. :D

The "Tiger Super Bowl" LSU Spring Football Game was Saturday. They came all the way from Shreveport, Slidell, Lafayette and points in-between to watch some big-time talent. It was warm 83 and Sunny and I got baked.

The Purple Team beat the White Team 20-14. The Purple also won the steak dinner while the White settled for the hot dogs. Early Doucet was the star on Offense with 9 receptions 131 yards and a TD from Matt Flynn. 240lb. Alley Broussard looked solid a scored a TD. Back-up redshirt freshman Richard Murphy scored a TD; is a future stud with a similar running style to McFadden. Ryan Perrilloux connected on a TD pass to Brandon LeFell, but threw an INT.. Keiland Williams will have a future in th NFL. LT-Ciron Black is becoming a force! A #2 WR needs to step up. Trindon Holliday "Mighty Mouse" showed why he was the SEC 60m Indoor Track Champion with some smooth runs after the catch.

Tyson Jackson was a man amongst boys on the D-Line. DT- Glen Dorsey and LB-Ali Highsmith sat out today's game. Craig Steltz is looking like a leader in the secondary. LSU "loaded" on Defense! CB-Chevis Jackson and LB-Darry Beckwith could challenge for All SEC Honors this season. CB-Jai Eugene will be one to watch.

^Yeah you right Nate  We are breathing some rarified football air these days.

More Good News! Saints agree to stay in Louisiana thru 2010...and hopefully way beyond!

If the Saints know what's good for them, they'll stay in Louisiana. Think about it, if they go elsewhere it wouldn't be the same.

Coach Eddie Robinson died late last night at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston. The sports world, most specifically college football and the world of black collegiate athletics, will miss him greatly.

In 2000, "Coach Rob" was inducted into the Greater Shreveport Walk of Stars, so his memory is forever etched into a piece of sidewalk in downtown Shreveport's Red River District.

Thanks for posting that Brian. It was sad that he had suffered from Alzeimers sp.? disease in his later years. To coach for that many years was quite an accomplishment. I was reminded he graduated HS in Baton Rouge at McKinley. They named a street after him too.

That's really nice he was inducted into the Greater Shreveport Walk of Stars.
