Where will ODU fall on this list (you can only guess, there are no real numbers for ODU) The First Virginia school is JMU followed by NSU. Then Liberty, W&M and Hampton. I could not place the numbers beside the school but it can found at NCAA.org

EVMS should have merged with ODU years ago. If it doesn't happen within the next 5-10 years, I would be shocked.

I said a while back ago that they really should merge. It would help both of them out. Then they could build some high rises dt too! I think it would make the both schools more nationally recognized! More expanding for both of them!

On net, they probably should merge, but EVMS would be giving up some freedom with the extra money they receive from the state. Also, as it is with all mergers, egos and vested interests have to be taken care of, and those problems are as much a challenge as the actual merger itself.

think you'll probably see a more formal relationship develop between the two schools, especially with regards to funding and joint projects, student body activities, etc. but I have doubts about a full blow merger, whereupon EVMS becomes the medical department of ODU. I just don't see EVMS giving up that much control.

Well I, for one, would like to see the "medical center" area fill up all those lots with nice buildings. Even if they were only mid-rises (10-15 stories), it would make a nice, dense area. It would be really cool if some of the buildings would follow the curve of Brambleton in that area and be very modern/glassy.
