thanks for the pics, it looks like a lot of work is going on down there. From the webcam you can't really get a graspe of the scope of the project, at least I can't.

I can't either. I kept flipping back and forth to different dates and it almost looked the same. These shots show a lot more progress...although I do wish I could just snap my fingers and get the dang thing done already.

Your right, it looks like it resembles Trademarks crane which I think goes into the ground. Avenues is partly on the street so it has legs with weights on top of them. I guess Im just used to the look of Avenue's since its the only one where you can see the bottom.

Either way, Im still amazed at how these cranes work. They just look so fragile.

And I wonder if we will see one at the opposite end from this one?

Then add the cranes outside the loop... you can see two of them off King's Blvd south of MidTown Square.

Living in Charlotte today sometimes reminds me of NC State's campus in the late 1980s. Cranes and construction all over the place.

That's what I'm thinking. Doug Smith keeps saying it....at first I wrote it off on senility, but also the interview with Bob Clark mentions it as over the Fox Sports and Prime (I think...I read the printed version on Friday and have short term memory loss)...so I would at least hope the GC knows where the different components are going.

i keep hearing that 210 Trade isn't guarenteed to be built and that it depends on how many units are sold. I have been wondering if that is necesarily true. I just wonder if like Avenue, they will go ahead and start building it regardless of whether anything has been sold or not. It just seems like everywhere I read that 210 Trade tower is definately going to be built.

I don't know if it has been posted yet but a very cool picture of EpiCentre in the skyline:

Yeah, that rendering was first posted in this thread last October when it was posted on Epicenter's webcam site:

You can actually zoom in on the image if you go to the original image here: http://oxblue.com/client/flahertycollins/twotentrade/

Even though the DMR rendering of Epicentre shows massing for a second building at College and 4th, I'm beginning to think that aloft will actually go at College and Trade. I think I'd prefer it at Trade anyway.

While agree that Trade Street address would be great for continuing our Trade Street canyon, I am not so sure I interpret that from the Dougie or CBJ articles. Which lines give you that impression?
