The bridge is 700 feet long and there are no protected bike lanes on either side. I'm not sure what you guys were expecting to get out of a bridge replacement project.

Exactly that, A REPLACEMENT! Not the same old 1950’s era design thinking. This city is growing and needs to be progressive in finding ways to improve the environment and infrastructure to meet the needs of a major city and ALL its citizens. Not just the car centric, good ole boys in the State Legislature.

TDOT announces that part of the north side of the downtown loop will be closed due to bridge work. I-65 South will be closed from Friday night until Monday morning.

Elizabeth Duff made history as the first woman to drive a Nashville bus. Now, her legacy endures in the heart of downtown.

WeGo’s central transit center at 400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. has officially been renamed the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center.

Metro Council unanimously approved an ordinance in July 2022 to make the change. Duff died on February 13, 2021 at the age of 72.

“Elizabeth was a pioneer, born and raised here in Nashville,” Mayor Freddie O’Connell said. “To the Duff family, I am here to say thank-you for continuing this legacy. Her son, Seneca, is a bus operator at WeGo and here today.”

WeGo plans to install historical displays at the transit center highlighting Duff’s life and tenure.

The owner of a downtown Nashville party vehicle company has been sentenced to 40 days in jail for violating a court order prohibiting him from continuing to operate his business without a license.

Circuit Court Judge David Briley found Curtis Carney, owner of Off the Wagon Tours, also known as the Nashville Party Wagon, guilty of eight counts of criminal contempt at a court hearing on Monday, according to an order signed by Briley and entered into the case on Tuesday. Briley ordered Carney to appear on Monday to be booked.

It's unlikely he'll spend even that night in jail, though.

If Carney appeals Briley's decision, he can be released on an $8,000 bond that would last through the resolution of the appeal.

If I had to guess I'd say the plan for them is to eventually get the whole regulatory scheme tossed in court.

$50 dollar fine?? That is freaking pathetic!!

Make that sucker a $1,000 per ticket or something like that. These companies are illegally operating and we are charging them less than what a single drunk occupant is paying them. Ridiculous!

I-24 to be widened. At Clarksville. As reported by the on-line publication, Clarksville Now, State Representative Curtis Johnson told the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce…

Johnson said the I-24 expansion from the state line to just past Exit 11 and from Davidson County to Old Hickory has received funding. Johnson said that leaves 28 miles from the Davidson County line to near Exit 11 still under consideration.

Johnson added the I-24 area being discussed is in TDOT’s Region 3, and the project is No. 1 on the region’s priority list. When asked about a timeline on the I-24 work, Powers said we should know something before the end of the year.

A train may work for some but not all. I think it would be a drop in the bucket for most of the traffic as a lot of the traffic is thru traffic. Unless the train goes right by my house which is a possibility (within a quarter of a mile) I would still have to think long and hard about using it depending on where it would go in Clarksville.

Ive driven I-40 past the Donelson Pike Interchange a few times since the summer.... the amount of earth moving has really stepped up.  A cool project that is hard to photograph while driving on the interstate.   There are job sites  north and south of I-40 and east and west of Donelson.   Wild that the project has a slated delivery the same week as the new Titans stadium.  https://www.tn.gov/tdot/projects/region-3/i-40-donelson-pike-interchange.html

Nashville voters will be voting on a transit expansion one year from now — if Mayor Freddie O'Connell adopts a recommendation from an advisory panel that he assembled.

That's the biggest highlight from a briefing O'Connell received Nov. 21 from the chairs of three committees he created to ease his transition into the mayor's office and help him set priorities for his four-year term.
