Whole thing would look a lot better if the pyramid wasn't open at the top.  The lighting along it is really nice

The opening is the 4 % of the building I like, and I saw it this last night and this morning in person the lighting is pretty stunning, she’s a soccer mom but def a freak in the sheets.

100% agree, this building at night is the smoking hot girl in a mini skirt who wore large glasses and a sweat shirt studying in the library earlier in the day.

I was in CLT last night, The building was changing colors Constantly fading from one color to the next, fairly fast. 

It was by far the coolest thing in the city.

I think they are testing the capabilities of the lightning right now so I don't know why everyone is getting upset about it.  the lighted pyramid looks fantastic and remember without it this building would have been approx. 100 feet shorter.

Bring it on. There are a bunch of bad buildings where I wouldn't mind a little pizazz. Le Meridien could certainly use a creative lighting scheme.

If it weren’t for the former Wachovia CEO refusing to start another building war in Uptown, the lights on DEC wouldn’t exist.

DEC was designed as the new HQ for Wachovia. During it’s construction, Wells Fargo acquired Wachovia but didn’t need the space, so the Wachovia CEO went to Duke. The Wachovia CEO had a requirement that the building not be heightened to surpass BOAT to avoid having another bank building war such as what occurred with the original First Union/BOA buildings in Uptown. So since the building couldn’t break any height records, along with a few other reasons, it was decided to add the lights to make the building stand out more.

I was just in SF for a Salesforce thing recently and their Transit center there is incredible.  With how much surface area is up there (LU deck), the top level could have been an incredible Urban Park-ing deck.  If done correctly, could have turned this hideous parking deck, into somewhat of a tourist attraction for the area with killer views.  It of course would have been costly, but more importantly, unique.  Below is the Salesforce Transit Center Park...it's awesome.

The multicolor thing has got to stop. Whoever is in control of this, is the same type of person that puts inflatable Christmas decorations in their yard, and considers it tasteful.  One color- preferably the white/goldish color would look the best.

All they're doing it testing the lighting.  They did the same thing at DEC and 300 South Tryon when they were wrapping up construction.  Chill people!!

I'm trying to visualize what that will even look like.   It'll be a podium for office that backs up to this garage correct?  How many spaces is FNB's going to be?  Is it going to be comparable in size?
