  1. Nice shots, AirNostrumMAD - are those from A Taste of Charlotte? This is a rather cliché shot, but it's one I've always wanted to attempt. I finally got an opportunity to do so this past Thursday.
  2. Bohicket Marina between Johns Island and Seabrook Island Sunrise over Breach Inlet: A game of "Tag" in Shem Creek:
  3. Those are nice and clean, but I still like my giant mushroom idea...
  4. Congratulations to Greenville, indeed! If they do try to follow the G-Drive Business Model, then maybe they'll stand half a chance. The demographics in Greenville really have not changed all that much since the Grrrowl folded, at least not that I could see. If they charge anything like what SC's other ECHL Team (the Stingrays) charge, then they'll be too expensive. Current Stingray single-game ticket prices: Advance Purchase Game Day Purchase Riser $20.00 $21.00 Lower Level $17.00 $18.00 Upper Level $14.00 $15.00 I would imagine the new Greenville team will be in line with this.
  5. This is most impressive, indeed! The people that bought our house got one hell of a deal, whether they realize it or not, with respect to the intangibles. T.R. is going to be a very cool place to live very soon, between the downtown improvements and the huge new park and civic complex planned for the old T.R.H.S. site. Catalysts for a mini boom, they are.
  6. Wow, so the old green monster was demolished! We were back in Greenville in December and they were just starting to demo the Washington & Main site. The 708 S. Main site was still standing, and the streetscape improvements in T.R. were still far from taking shape. It's amazing what a month will do. Thanks for posting the pic, g-man!
  7. Yea, I know...I no longer live in Greenville, but... I saw a link to this in Twitter the other day and thought, "Hey! This would be PERFECT in Greenville!!" B-Cycle Couldn't you just imagine picking up a bike out of one of these B-Cycle stations in Travelers Rest or on the Furman Campus and riding it into town and dropping it off on Main Street in Greenville? Perhaps grab one from a B-Cycle station on North Main and ride into the West End for a ballgame at Fluor Field? Or grab one from a B-Cycle station on Augusta Road and ride it into Downtown to the Bi-Lo Center or the Peace Center for a concert or play? You get the idea. If you agree that this is something that you'd like to see in Greenville, then tell them you want it more and spread the word (via E-Mail, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, your Blog, etc.) to your friends!
  8. Nice photos, g-man! The area in these two photos has a really cool gazebo and park benches, etc. now...I saw it when we went to Greenville for Thanksgiving. It is looking very nice! I'm looking forward to one day seeing the finished product.
  9. Love how the birds are surfing there...need to make it over to Edisto one of these days, especially after a storm. I understand there are Whelk shells-a-plenty over there. I can't get enough of the Ravenel Bridge either...evidently.
  10. That's the one! I shot this photo from Marion Square on Sunday as the vendors from the Green Fair were breaking down and packing up. Thanks!
  11. Boeing is filing for building permits. FULL STORY. Could simply be because it'll take so long to get them, but they haven't filed for permits in any of the other prospective states (yet).
  12. It's located just off of Mall Road/Montague, near I-26.
  13. Not exactly...but I am enjoying the area a great deal. I have now! Thanks for the suggestion! To do it justice, I'm going to have to go back with a telephoto lens, my tripod, and more time to wait for the sun to set. For now, this will have to do:
  14. Thanks, guys! Went over to Shem Creek after work this evening...one of my favorite areas here in Mount Pleasant, without a doubt. I stood on the bridge over Shem Creek and soaked in the atmosphere - people dining at the restaurants along the creek; the shrimp boats parked at their docks; a girl standing on a surf board, paddling toward Charleston Harbor; the porpoises/dolphins playing in the creek; the seagulls in competition for whatever they could scrounge up; the pelicans sitting and taking it all in along with me.
  15. Thanks, guys! Here's one from last week - braved the mosquitoes along the Cooper and it was well worth it!
  16. I've always loved that view of Greenville. Imagine it with only 4 traffic lanes, a landscaped median, wider sidewalks and landscaping, and no billboards or power lines...
  17. Here's another one from the North Charleston Riverfront Park:
  18. I saw a lot of "interesting" sculpture in that park. It's definitely eclectic in that regard. It is an awesome location ... if the Noisette Creek Project ever goes ahead full steam, that area's going to be awesome (and I'm fortunate enough to work right in the middle of it all). Thanks, krazeeboi! I was hoping to get into Charleston proper this weekend, but I've got to head back to Greenville to take care of some things there since our house is now under contract. Hope you enjoyed those Greenville photos ... they're likely going to be a thing of the past before too long.
  19. Walked over to the North Charleston Riverfront Park after work today...neat park, if you're in the area and have the opportunity to check it out:
  20. Oh, I've seen plenty of art in my days on this earth and this, my friend, doesn't qualify. Looks like the rantings of a lunatic to me...
  21. You guys know me ... where I go so go my cameras. I'm finding new inspiration down here, so I'm sure you'll see plenty more from me! Charleston's full of things that are old and beautiful, but here's something that's new - a scene from the Market at Oakland in Mount Pleasant (out past 41):
  22. Thanks, Skyliner! I had a few without people in the composition, but you just couldn't quite get a good sense of the scale of this tree without them. I elected to go with this one for that very reason. It's amazing how small that huge tree can look.
