  1. Very cool! I used to work at the Gooding's Flagship on Sand Lake & Dr. Phillips as a manager (in a past life). I don't even live in Orlando anymore, but I can't express with words just how much it means to me to know that this vulgarity of a property is being destroyed. YES!!!!
  2. Did anybody make it to the ICAR Dedication at 3:30pm today? I drove out that direction; however, I was turned away by GPD when I attempted to turn onto Millenium Boulevard.
  3. The Greenville Journal doesn't put their articles online, but their address is: http://www.greenvillejournal.com/ I'll quote the entire article here though - it's very short: "Greenville Mall has been hurt by the loss of several anchor stores in the past few years, but there is a buzz things may soon be changing. Bill Monroe, master planner of the Verdae project, told a crowd of close to 500 Greenville movers and shakers that 'Greenville Mall is in a resurgence.' Can't imagine a more resounding shot in the arm..." Source: The Greenville Journal - May 13-19, 2005, p. 39
  4. Yea - I remember that as well. The restaurant at the Haywood Mall was supposed to be something very unusual and exciting for Greenville. As for the Greenville Mall, I noticed a snippet in the Greenville Journal today which indicated the same. I'm wondering what exactly the "resurgence" at the Greenville Mall is. As for the Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World, I think that Greenville would be an excellent location for one. Lake Hartwell is just to the Outdoor World East of Atlanta
  5. Sounds like I need to take a detour and drive down into the West End to take some more photographs of the site :-) I promise I'll post them or host them soon enough.
  6. Thanks, Brad. This is what made the most sense to me; however, I wanted to verify my thinking on it. As for the Hyperlinked URL's to the GIS pages, I tested them and they work for me. Guess that's a bad test though if it doesn't work for anyone else.
  7. Well, Business 85 isn't a beltway, so it wouldn't be 285, 485, 685, 885, etc. (even number first digit). It's not really a spur either (which would be 185, 385, 585, 785, 985, etc. (odd first number)). It's just a business route, I suppose? I've often wondered why business routes get the Interstate designation, myself. I'd be curious to know the answer, too.
  8. BTW... Should anybody have not noticed, the Pinnacle on Main Web Site is vastly different today from what it was a week ago. It's much more professional and detailed, which lends (to me at least) more credibility to its viability :-)
  9. Pinnacle on Main will be located here: North Main & East Elford The other "14 Story" Tower is said to be on the corner of Main and Broad, but which corner? Main and West Broad OR Main and East Broad ??? Main and East Broad is a Parking Lot at the moment, so it would make sense that it would be here. Main and West Broad is fairly useless raised plaza where the old City Hall Building used to stand. I also thought that I had heard once that the old City Hall Building was going to be "re-born" on this same site in a modern form harkening back to the old structure. Not sure whatever became of that.
  10. This is pretty exciting. I noticed the following article at GreenvilleNews.com (GreenvilleOnline.com): Downtown High Rises in the Works I believe one of these is the Pinnacle on Main. I was wondering what the other is? Definitely some exciting times in G'Ville! B)
  11. As best I can discern, the Development of this Park seems to center around the following piece of property and extend to the North and the South along the Reedy River: Aerial Photography and Property Information from the GIS
  12. Hi Brad - yes, I saw this too. It's really exciting. I just created a separate forum topic about this. I hadn't seen your post yet. The idea definitely has my interest. I think it's GREAT!
  13. Not sure if anybody noticed this on WYFF - Channel 4 News last night: http://www.thecarolinachannel.com/family/4439659/detail.html "Greenville Finalizing Plans For Massive West End Park Park Would Be Larger Than Cleveland Park, Falls Park Combined" "The park would be larger than Cleveland Park and Falls Park combined." Plans should be finalized by the end of June. If I heard correctly, the park will be named "Mayberry" or "Mabry" Park. I've been scanning the area on the GIS Property Viewer - you can almost see the footprint of the park between Academy Street and the end of the Greenville City Limits near the Rail Yards. It should definitely help extend the River Walk greenbelt. Can't wait to see it finished! :-)
