  1. Here is a shot looking west from Sixth and Union this morning. Could China be spying on Nashville Yards?
  2. Had lunch at the food court on Friday and was amazed at the crowd. Pat Emery would be thrilled to see the success of this development. I miss seeing him and Kitty at the Vandy basketball games.
  3. View of Alcove from the corner of Rosa Parks and Church Street this morning. It is striking in the morning sun. Prime is shown on the left.
  4. One of the better views of the northern skyline is from the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel in Metro Center. As the sun was setting last night I got these two shots.
  5. Here is the view today looking west from the Nashville City Club showing progress on the Prime, a changing Church Street and the density along Broadway to the west. When Southwest Partners get through, this view will be very different.
  6. Can't wait to see the 35 story Arnold's Office Tower rise in the left portion of this picture.
  7. A view from the east before the front came through. Courtesy of Jody Bailey.
  8. Here is a shot, taken today, from Seventh and Church Street. It appears the core is now into the residential area. The Fred won't get much afternoon sunlight when this is completed.
  9. Speaking of Tony, here is his 505 Church tower as seen today from the City Club.
  10. Here is the view last night from Seventh and Commerce. Cranes now but glassification later.
  11. I am beginning to like the remake of the UBS Tower. Assuming they also paint the old bank lobby structure that now houses Jeff Ruby's place.
  12. This project is beginning to feel like Lake Palmer 2.0 without the water. But if that is true doesn't it bode even worse for the Reed and Beaman sites?
  13. Windows are topped out on the south side. Still a way to go on the north (penthouse?). This building is stunning against the September sky.
  14. Here is an updated shot from The Maxwell House. If all of Giarratana's stuff gets built, the right side of this picture will become dominant. Not to mention Nashville Yards. Then the Tennessean site, and Reed District...and Beaman.... Well, you get the picture. A little closer. Chris Holman's excellent photo inspired me to take this today.
  15. The area in front of the Fifth Third Center has been renovated again. This time they have added many tables and chairs as well as planters. Most of the furniture is made of unfinished wood and has a modern look. When I inspected the plaza yesterday it was not fully open and no one appeared to be using it yet. But soon it could accommodate dozens of Starbucks customers and other diners. Not sure how these structures are intended to be used. Sunbathing? Here is a view of the front door looking up. And here are the Viridian and L&C Tower across the street and the old Third National Building next door. (Rumor has it that Service Source is moving out and the building will become residential.) Finally we have the soaring 505 at Fifth and Church.
  16. Here are a few shots from Thursday and Friday. First the classic view down Church Street from the Nashville City Club. Then, from yesterday, the storm moves into West Nashville. The reflection on the right is the Polk Building. And also from my perch at Sixth and Union, we see the storm move over the Capitol Building. Flags show a strong west wind.
