  1. The renovation of the Arcade facade on Fourth Avenue is almost complete. Wish I could say the same thing about the infrastructure work. Does anybody know what is taking so long?
  2. Hard to tell whether these workers on the roof of the Hermitage Hotel are admiring the elevated tower crane or the designated pronoun on the Sheraton. But my guess is we have about eight floors to go based on the drawings.
  3. It was the Methodists that started Vanderbilt University . The Commodore gave $1,000,000 to Bishop Holland McTyeire and he built the college in the 1870's. But you are right, these schools are a big plus for the city. ,
  4. Prime and Alcove as seen from the Nashville City Center at Sixth and Union. And in this wide shot taken today you can see Tempo on the left. Tower crane will need to go up soon.
  5. Speaking of Broadway, here is another shot looking east from Palmer Plaza. What would they have thought of this in 1939?
  6. The older buildings of the CBD don't get much love these days. So here is a shot of the Philips tower on Union Street that started out about 50 years ago as the Commerce Union Building.
  7. Here is my last monthly look from the Millennium Maxwell House. Prime will soon dominate the right side, but Pinnacle and 1010 Church will change everything.
  8. Yesterday I was on the 15th floor of Palmer Plaza and got this picture of downtown looking east down Broadway. It makes me wonder what will happen to the area between Broad and West End. If something is built there it will certainly affect this view.
  9. On this Bluebird day I could not resist these shots of UBS tower and 505. Separated by 50 years but still important elements of the Nashville Skyline.
  10. Here is another shot from the north - showing that Prime is beginning to make its mark on the skyline.
  11. I believe all three of these buildings at Eighth and Broad are for sale. Wonder what will happen here?
  12. Prime is slowly catching up with Alcove as this shot from Sixth Avenue yesterday shows. Of course, Prime will eventually surpass Alcove in height, especially from this angle.
  13. This shot from the I-65 bridge north of Jefferson Street is hard to get but this week I had a chance because my son was driving me to work in the early morning. The out-of-focus trees on the right let you know we are traveling at high speed. Neuhoff blocks the view of the Capitol.
  14. Another shot from the Millennium Maxwell House. Taken last Tuesday.
  15. Here is one I took two weeks ago from Fourth and Union. After having serious doubts about the update I have to admit they made a big improvement in the overall look. Jeff Ruby should be pleased.
