  1. Approaching three years on the market... price now down to $11 million... https://www.loopnet.com/viewer/pdf?file=https%3a%2f%2fimages1.loopnet.com%2fd2%2f1yFMvP-Wk_k14zaaobexbHk0xBET7FzQ1ixojrY8IZc%2f111%20Commerce%20OM.pdf
  2. have to wonder if a lot of that was pie-in-the-sky thinking and we'll get a half dozen small/medium scale projects on the water's edge instead of the encompassing vision that River for All/GR Forward envisioned. The project on the water's edge at the museum is going forward, and likely the city parcel north of 196 will, but what else REALLY will happen?
  3. Large investments in JBZ infrastructure over recent years make reconsidering the GR golf club site very unlikely…. Not to mention voters previously rejected that idea. IMHO, the dump site as a parking solution will rise quickly as parking combined with solar will prove attractive and relatively low cost (compared to a ramp). on the topic of Acrisure building, I’ve heard a number of people from Acrisure relay that the company really likes being part of the Arena South neighborhood (to use the old label that preceded Studio Park). I wonder if that will attract them to the site next to the s-curve more than the Fulton/Market development site. Will be interesting to see how this goes…
  4. Acrisure buys the former Cooley building to hotel staff until they can get a large building constructed. Acrisure proposes a large new building next to the s-curve with a dramatic architectural design Two more high density housing projects are proposed for the west bank south of Leonard Padnos announces sale of its GVSU adjacent properties and consolidates onto its north-side lots. Significant housing development rumored for the newly sold property. Amplify GR and Rockford Construction land 1000 new jobs in their project areas. Rivertown Mall announces major transformation of one end of the mall into housing development. Large-scale repair work is launched on the grandville castle JTB proposes another 500 home subdivision in the Walker area Restaurant Partners Management will purchase two more heritage restaurants in West Michigan from longtime family owners. USPS will indicate interest in moving from its downtown property for the first time.
  5. There was a leak of plans that included this... they were taken down, but the skywalk is still in the ones up on Crains. (that's as far as I got)
  6. #9 would be a shock considering the headwinds that chain pharmacies are experiencing
  7. VAA is top five performing mid-size venue every year. Kzoo won't make a dent.
  8. I'm curious if anyone knows what the YMCA's disposition is toward this site concept. Their parking lot is a key piece...
  9. There's a soccer holding company already under the DP Fox Sports and Entertainment umbrella...
  10. I'm not sure how to read the sales portion of the parcel viewer correctly, but it appears to me that the property has not left hands of the family that owned the vac shop. If they're looking to repurpose their property without investing big $$$ then this plan makes sense from that perspective. I'd hope that another developer would see this plan and make them an offer to partner and improve the heck out of the idea.
  11. Once again, following Peter Carlberg's playbook pays off for a couple dozen neighbors of the zoo. Amazing how history repeats itself.
  12. Yeah, that’s partly a function of where you’re looking… post on We Are Westsiders group on FB has almost 300 comments. Mostly quite negative.
  13. Here’s an idea for the current tower when new one is built… https://flytecotower.com/
  14. Any rumors of casino with that hotel? I've been wondering when that concept will raise it's head again...
  15. I don't think with Progressive AE working on this that will happen. These renderings and the renderings from the amphitheater are all of a style that they (or a specific designer there) seem to be favoring lately, and a TON of the metal panel cladding in stuff they've designed...
  16. The new volleyball franchise should be an interesting glimpse into how sports that are slightly more niche and less mass appeal may perform in this market.
  17. Definitely some anti-car dialogue in this thread and within Strong Towns advocacy. I'm pro-transit but realistic that car usage has to be accommodated and there's a significant component here who don't live within that reality...
  18. When PJ Fleck had them rolling, there was a ton of interest here. I think you're on point seeing that as part of our market.
  19. Been thinking about this. I think the benefits of dominating DII and traveling within region/state for sports are significant vs. moving up and losing more frequently at higher level while accruing significant expense increases across every budget line and losing fan travel opportunities due to distance/cost. I think the benefits of moving up to FCS are overblown...
  20. I was under the impression the city was considering acquiring it for a park since all the proposals over recent years had been rejected for not fitting the community surrounding the parcel. Will be interesting to see what happens with this one...
  21. really interesting how divergent views are on how to grow our community… I put this in this category because of the heading on this first article. https://www.wmpolicyforum.com/news/west-michigan-policy-forum-calls-for-action-to-grow-michigans-population/ Interestingly, this view also came out this week (slightly different focus): https://www.crainsgrandrapids.com/news/economic-development/report-warns-low-state-funding-levels-curb-michigans-competitiveness/
  22. Vito is an interesting cat… will be curious to see how this listing goes.
  23. I feel like on previous versions of this there was small, medium, and large airports
