  1. Never underestimate the ability of people to feel victimized
  2. I think Portman, Beacon Scaleybark (Team NoLoSo), Beacon Common Square, and CK Design Center are all prime candidates.
  3. I agree and I wasn't trying to trash Tremont, it's just that Tryon has a lot of cache in the office game and they chose not to use it
  4. It's telling that you have a Tryon St address and name your project after a side street.
  5. If they want to lease office space next to Brookhill be my guest
  6. It would do good business but also have unprecedented levels of ratchet-ness
  7. The more I've been thinking about it, the more I think this is going to LU. There is more than enough land there to build out (assuming GS/LH banks the Duke bldg.) and it is in the Epicenter of where all the banks are moving (WF consolidating into DEC, BofA inv banking moving to LU, Regions, Ally, etc).
  8. I thought the pyramid would be additive. It is officially the worst part now
  9. Agree 100% hotel seems most likely because you can share parking with the office building and do something gritty that contrasts with the Kimpton next door.
  10. Not to sound like a you know what but the info you got is incorrect. Stream turned down LT. WF to take the whole building.
  11. As much as we don't like to admit it, the only thing North Tryon really has going for it is the Tryon address. All of the momentum in Uptown is moving south (Stonewall, Romare-Bearden, ballpark, LU, Ally Center, proximity to South End etc). Also, I think people give way too much credence to going into a development that contains another bank. To me what is important is if you are going into the same BUILDING. A new tower at LU would be similar distance wise between LU, LU2, Ally, DEC etc. Methinks disaster
  12. I will say this thing was kept more under wraps than anything I've seen in my career. A lot of folks knew about BofA, Ally, Allstate, Honeywell, etc before the announcement, but I heard exactly one very cryptic peep that this was happening. Kudos to the chamber of commerce folks.
  13. Speaking about what I know (office) this is the first deal this cycle in Charlotte that is a real head scratcher. No matter how you look at it just not an office location. However I think they are gaining a huge advantage by getting in the ground.
  14. I'm hearing that office is now 100% leased.....
  15. The boring podium apartments at Morehead and Tryon are so very disappointing
  16. If it would have been an equinox, that would have been massive IMO
  17. Somebody already has. Maybe, a large Charlotte employer with offices nearby.
  18. This is telling me that they have one of LendingTree or Honeywell. That's right ladies and gents, rumor has it, LT is back on the market.
  19. I think they have a hoppin like concept going in
