I always thought they should remove the water fountain and dated tower and replace it with a glass boxed retail sitting on the water pond. Could make it a coffee shop, even a Starbucks.

From today's Charlotte Ledger · New all-suite hotel chain eyeing airport area: Developers are looking at building an all-suite hotel near the airport — a new brand affiliated with InterContinental Hotel Group, according to city records. The hotel brand is called Atwell Suites, and it is described as “a new upper-midscale, all-suites hotel brand that brings inspiration to every journey.” City records show developers are eyeing a 2.5-acre parcel off Queen City Drive near Sloan Drive. The trade publication Hotel Business reported last week that IHG “has revealed anticipated first markets for new-build Atwell Suites properties in Charlotte, NC; Phoenix; Denver; and the San Francisco Bay Area.”

It is AMC. No food outside of the normal snacks, but there is a bar. There are small theaters with large recliners (including heaters). Don't do what i did and book the first row. You are so close to the screen you are almost vertically looking up at it. Apart from that it is nice.

Spectrum's project on Mint & Carson is now announced... from the CO "The Spectrum Companies plans to build an eight-story complex with 303 apartments at the corner of South Mint Street and West Carson Boulevard, the firm said in a press release Friday. So I know many on here will have the answer but it is something I never knew. Am I correct to think the crane will become the elevator shaft? If so, does the crane forever become embedded in the structure? I presume there is no way to extract it? Great to see the blue rise on this site.

All State signage was up this morning, on the north tower wall facing uptown. WeWork signage looks good, better than their uptown sign. All States could be a lot better.

What is going in here? Restaurant / retail?
