Who is many? Your rarely back up your statements. As you said yourself, it’s uncommon. That doesn’t translate to typical rail.

It would be interesting to see who would win that ad war. Brightline would need to match pricing to Sunrail since technically, they are sharing tracks on the Sunshine Corridor. Why would you take Brightline to Universal when you could take Sunrail for cheaper? I don’t know much but I assume Brightline along that route will travel at the same speed as Sunrail due to frequent stops, so it’s not like the “high speed” spin works here.
  3. I crossed the front lawn of that wasteland around 3pm today. I’ll never make that mistake again.

Sunrail to Disney Springs will have a legit boost to the entire system. In a way, I like the idea of Sunrail - Disney and Brightline - Universal. I’m sure both companies would market the hell out of each respective system. Who knows, Disney might even design “Magical Disney Express” style train cars to whisk passengers over on an express route.
  5. Hyatt Regency tower feels taller than Suntrust.
  6. Over time the former garage may have likely improved in appearance making for a decent city block. The MEC could have easily filled in the adjacent lot to the west or even some of the parking lots around Central / Amelia. Or taken over Church Street Station and revitalized it.

Joe Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure bill awarded Brightline West $3 billion. It’s not like the Feds don’t dedicate to rail projects.
  8. Awarding the Florida Black History museum to Eatonville over St. Augustine should be a no brainer. Never underestimate those Tallahassee politicians though… Eatonville closes gap in rankings to host Florida’s Black history museum
  9. I was half hoping phase III would be sold to another developer to add some architectural variety but it seems it’ll be more of the same.
  10. The Advent garage right by Sunrail is 24 hours and a short walk over.
  11. An update on Lakeland: City Commission Embraces Vision for Lakeland’s ‘Downtown West’
  12. What seems to have completely stalled, which I think was Orlando’s forte for condo units, is the smaller niche style townhouse infill projects that people seem to gravitate to in downtown Orlando neighborhoods. This helped to fill out the Main Street districts nicely with a mix of residential styles. A perk for high rise living is have a prized view to gaze out at. Orlando just doesn’t have that and never will. That is why we tend to see the taller developments pop up around lakes, whenever they do materialize.
  13. As if that will hold up in court. DeShameless appears to have a legitimate authoritarian edge over Trump.
  14. I agree with you that Trumps platform is designed to create fear mongering amongst a weary voting population. Case in point — you.
  15. The plan he was aligned with to move the Capitals to VA was squashed. How much political will does he really have among VA voters?
  16. I think it’ll pass. Those Villagers, who vote en masse, will surely be aligned with legalization. That would offset any other conservative bloc.
  17. Doubt it - DeSantis is wholly out of touch with the average American. While Trump just attaches himself to whatever view he believes will get him elected, DeSantis has shown that he actually believes that his platform is somehow in touch with voters.
  18. Given how lopsided and mismanaged it has been, I would not be surprised at all if the State came in and used the money elsewhere. Not that I trust the state of Florida to use it for anything other than partisan projects.
  19. Kissimmee has run out of new land -- all new development will now be considered redevelopment. I personally think this is a best case scenario as the city can correct the mistakes made in past as it looks to the future. ‘New development to redevelopment:’ Kissimmee changes tack as it runs out of land
  20. The "lawn" of the performing arts center was not completed as per the original vision. Given that it is quite literally the front lawn for Orlando, I think it deserves attention it is not getting.
  21. I happened to be in New Rochelle NY over the weekend and was getting envy from what they’ve accomplished over the last few decades.
  22. Completion of the vision for the performing arts center should be a priority before expansion of Lake Eola.
  23. You are so hung up on who is Red or Blue that you forget details. Or maybe you don’t, I wouldn’t know. For the record, if DeSatan was a Democrat I’d probably be an Independent myself. This statement has nothing to do with what actual party I choose to support — just sayin’
