  1. This is not correct. There are plenty of well informed people here who have something to say about the state of the Orlando economy. If only you would give them the oxygen...
  2. As far as I’m concerned, your attack on people who work at Disney is much more offensive than anything said on this forum by anyone else. To each her own

I guess it’s true what they say: we all write our own history

This has nothing to do with SunRail.
  5. Stop being so small minded. Orlando should have a Chelsea Market already! Shan’t. I quite enjoy your uninformative posts with total lack of self-awareness. I will continue to follow you in earnest.
  6. You should spend more time in these places. It’s everything you rally for. A bit funny you are so unaware.
  7. It’s your attitude we don’t like.
  8. The Stata Center at MIT - a building universally hated by MIT students and administration alike for its inefficient design and a host of structural problems (Gehry was sued by the school shortly thereafter). Needless to say, Gehry hasnt worked in Boston ever since. A few others: Graham Gund, John M Johansen
  9. Building proposed for the last vacant lot in Baldwin Park town center: http://www.growthspotter.com/news/residential-property-developments/multi-family/gs-vadia-midtown-opportunities-baldwin-park-multifamily-20180817-story.html
  10. It’s easy - if you don’t like Rick Scott, vote.

The difference with the southern expansion, as I see it, is that it actually takes people where they need to go in a much more convenient manner than driving. That gives me hope for maintaining the ridership levels and hopefully increasing over time.
  12. ^Appearance Review Board on August 16th (today, not sure what the outcome was but they were recommending approval). The city will decide after the ARB meeting if the Crescent Station appeal will go to a hearing officer for review, or straight to the City Council.
  13. Perhaps that elevator skyscraper featured in the "Cool Things in Other Cities" thread will put their expertise to use in our old folks super tall
  14. Let’s just hope that their elevator doesn’t breakdown!
  15. Reopening the train depot as a semi public / private space that incorporates mixed use businesses (coffee, kiosks, cafes etc.) might give it the foot traffic needed to help businesses survive there. Who wants to stand in Orlando’s oppressive heat in the summer waiting for a train anyway? Didnt these guys originally propose a Food Hall at the Walgreens? Maybe they’re up to it again.
  16. Crescent was underbuilt and that space underutilized. Crescent had an opportunity to breakup that mega block and create something of a pedestrian experience. The W Amelia side is a huge failure. I hope Crescent's appeal is denied so that other, more dense developments, can help to correct the situation around this site.
  17. No additional info in the Growthspotter article on other cities in consideration, just that Orlando is one of the cities considered. Indeed, it would be a great catch for Lake Nona, directly adjacent to the Johnson&Johnson site (due south of Sanford Burnham).
  18. Pharmaceutical firm seeks city incentives to build $149M+ plant in Lake Nona An affiliate of New Jersey-based Amicus Therapeutics, one of the world's largest biopharmaceutical companies, is seeking up to $3.99 million in city and state economic incentives to build a manufacturing facility in Lake Nona's Medical City, an investment it tells city staff would be at least $148.85... http://www.growthspotter.com/news/lake-nona-developments/gs-amicus-plans-lake-nona-manufacturing-facility-20180814-story.html
  19. I’m another long time lurker on this forum and others. This one is by far the most informational and knowledgeable about the Orlando metro area. I wouldn’t want it to devolve into that nonsense at City Data.
