Agreed. I've always thought the massive mostly unused parking lot for fisherman would be much better suited for a campground similar to Grand Haven's. Would add a lot more life and vibrancy to the beach area.

I heard the same thing. A friend of mine who runs a construction company was heading up there to bid on it I believe. I’ll have to see if I can get details. Would be very cool for Manistee! I also heard the new owners of the massive 1907 Iron Works building downtown on the river want to turn it into a grow facility. Would have been cool if the tribe renovated that into a mixed use development.

Looking at the concept, there doesn't seem to be a ramp from Eastbound 196 to Northbound 231... I would think some traffic would want to use it as a bypass of Holland and Grand Haven heading northbound on 31.

Slightly off topic, but very timely given the Amway renovations. Our resort just offered up their Stickley Brothers chairs from 1915 for sale last week. I guess they were originally purchased for the Pantlind hotel until a major renovation in 1940, then were used at the Portage Point Resort until today.
