Hyatt House Nashville West End, 15 stories, 201 rooms, garage
Tim29tn replied to markhollin's topic in Nashville
Nice addition for West End. I hope it's like the one pictured above and parking is underground. -
222 2nd Ave. South, 25 Stories|305 Feet, 391,000 sq. ft., $100 million

Tinted glass around the garage and this thing would have been great to look at. This will be the worst highrise in the city. -

I'm with everyone else on the Joelton shot. That is incredible, middle Tennessee is truly God's country. -
I hope it's a misprint and was supposed to say 486'.

That's exactly why if I were opening a social drinking spot it would appeal to more people like a pub. It would take a hit with an economic slowdown but the chances of the doors closing are less. People are always gonna go out somewhere and drink their sorrows away, so make it more affordable. -

No kidding. Nashville is a pub city, imo. -
Rise baby rise! This will be the best looking highrise in Nashville when complete.

True, but make it look decent if the garage is above ground. Especially right there facing 1st. -

I don't understand why the developer couldn't at least just put in the same glass around the garage portion and tinted it. There's no way they could've looked at this final product design and came away impressed with themselves. Its a cheap way out and a slap in the face to the beautiful developing SoBro skyline. -
I have no problem with all of the 30 story buildings going up. After a while, the inner loop (of course River North would be awesome on the East bank as well) will be so vibrant it will attract a major HQ to want to build a dominating supertall/major high rise. Imo, Bridgestone is a big enough company to where they could've been the ones to do that, but of course they chose otherwise. This is just my opinion, but I honestly believe Nashville won't go straight super super tall (1000 ft) from where they stand now. There will be two or three 700-800 footers, then a 1000 footer will dominate the skyline and I wouldn't give it more than 8-10 years at the pace of the boom we are witnessing.

The best thing that can happen is in fact happening now. Keep building and broadening the SoBro skyline. The makeup of two skylines inside the loop isn't terrible and protects Nashvilles historic entertainment district. Density is the key here and one street splitting the difference isnt a total failure imo. -
Im loving this in Midtown. Call me crazy, but I think this development would also be awesome in the Green Hills area with everything else going on that way. Just seems to fit that area imo.
-
Love the building, but yes, it is too short. Bridgestone should have broken 600 feet at least with this.
-
You've gotta factor in population outside of the Nashville metro area as well though. The whole state of Tennessee, Southern Kentucky and Northern Alabama would be the fandom footprint. I absolutely think Nashville is large enough to support MLB and the NBA on top of what they already have. I've mentioned this in another thread and I'm a huge Grizzlies fan, but they should have came to Nashville. Memphis has embraced the Grizzlies fairly well, VERY well around playoff time, but let's be realistic. Memphis has nowhere near the footprint Nashville has and most likely never will.

This one can't get here soon enough. I love the impact that 505 and Bridgestone will have, but this project is what Nashville needs more of. There's nothing even close to this design in the city and its gonna be beautiful.

Ridiculous. They could cut that price in half and make so much more money. We're not talking world class here, you have to look through the eyes of the middle class. -
They should just add a few more floors to this.......

I'll bet the farm that it's not finished. I've googled other Westins and none were left like that. -
