  1. Oh yeah, its been good for me. But for CLT as a whole I don't think the merger has been good- less international options, higher fares, worse customer experience, less focus on CLT etc.
  2. We are obviously going to disagree on the merger. From an employee point of view, I don't think the merger has been good for CLT because CLT is no longer the most important hub and has got less attention. Apart from 2x daily LHR and aircraft up gauges on international to Europe, I don't think CLT is any better off.
  3. Please show me where this merger has been good for CLT, except for a few sh**ty 1 daily flights on regional jets to the Midwest and 1 extra flight to London (which actually isn't that good because it just replaced the 2nd daily flight to Frankfurt).
  4. We're supposedly getting up to 3 additional flights go year-round: DUB, CDG and MAD- so that could be 6 in the winter and 8 in the summer. ORD only gets IIRC 6 trans-oceanic flights and they have a Flagship Lounge, so I don't see why we couldn't get a small Flagship Lounge- why not use the old D Club space? As for refurbs and other things, why are we last?! We are AA's second busiest and one of the most profitable hubs. In other news, Lufthansa is basing their first A350s in MUC and sending them to BOS and DEL which are currently operated on A330s like CLT, maybe we see the A350 here!
  5. Well, today's AA announcement about expanding lounges, new clubs and renovations was very disappointing for CLT. http://www.aa.com/i18n/airportAndLounge/reimagining-lounges.jsp?anchorLocation=DirectURL&title=loungeupdates AA is expanding Flagship Lounge access to Business class passengers, so as a result DFW, PHL and MIA are all getting Flagship Lounges! Which just leaves CLT and PHX as the only AA hubs without Flagship Lounges- this makes me think that CLT international operations will be further scaled down after this summer season. The announcement also includes information about renovating existing clubs- CLT isn't on the list- and building new clubs- again CLT isn't on the list- so I don't expect a new club to be built on E. This is just further proof that CLT isn't that important to AA and that I was very naive thinking this merger would be good for CLT.
  6. Going completely off topic here, can anyone imagine HSBC or BMW's NA HQ here in CLT? Is BMW's NA HQ still up in the air?
  7. Ok, i think I get what you are saying. But what is a spec? Any clue what the tenant could be?
  8. Well, it would help if we could actually offer incentives to get a company here! Since Pat McCrory took office North Carolina has been completely screwed over! Bet Perdue was a much better governor. I'll admit I voted for Pat McCrory thinking that as he was Mayor he would make CLT and NC better as a whole- but he has done the opposite.
  9. The Daily Press up in NoDa is moving to a permanent location this Friday!! They are no longer going to be a pop up inside The Evening Muse. i love their drinks, I find them better than any other coffee shop in CLT. They also use a lot of local companies products such as Joe's Donuts and Salts of the Earth! I'm really excited!
  10. Traffic record broken by 600,000 passengers. 44.9 million travelers passed through CLT in 2015. http://charmeck.org/city/charlotte/Airport/News/Pages/CLTBreaksPassengerTrafficRecordWelcomes44-9MillionTravelersin2015.aspx

  12. Just out of curiosity, does anyone have renderings/know what BoA Corporate Center what have looked like if any non-Cesar Pelli designs were selected. I am interested to see what if would have looked like if any of the following architects (which bid for the job according to wikipedia) designed BoA Corporate Center: I.M. Pei of New York City Skidmore, Owings and Merrill of Chicago HKS Architects of Dallas John Burgee Architects of New York City WZMH Group of Dallas Kohn Pederson Fox Associates of New York City
  13. Hopefully AP will drop the "N.C." http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/development/article58623813.html#emlnl=todays-headlines_newsletter
  14. This is sort of off topic, but I thought I'd share it. I don't know if any of you will agree with me, but I think that the Panther's logo is quite dated- so I came across the behance project where every NFL team logo was redesigned and I loved the Panther's logo! https://www.behance.net/gallery/33387463/Every-NFL-Team-Logo-Redesigned
  15. Looking at Atlanta's future Streetcar Lines and the fact that we have no clear transit plan, I thought I'd make my own future LYNX Transit Map. Where there is a Streetcar line travelling on, or crossing Tryon, it would operate as wireless. What do you think? https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=z_BUd03GDx5E.kD8vaPbrcgC0&usp=sharing
  16. It stood out to me because I'm half British!
  17. http://www.charlottefive.com/21-more-breweries-could-be-coming-to-the-charlotte-area/ I was reading this C5 article and came across one future brewery I really like the sound of- Avenge Brewing. Has anyone heard anything else about them?
  18. IIRC, it will have about 150 rooms.
  19. I asked when we could see the updated renderings! Ha! Caught you out! i'm only joking.
