  1. It looks like the FCS Championship game is being played in Toyota Park in Frisco, TX. This is the Dallas MLS team's stadium. It would be cool if you could also play some football games in the stadium if it is built. The stadium is almost 30 miles from downtown Dallas.
  2. I would go to Nova's more often if they upped their game. The inside just seems like a mess to me. It may have already been addressed but the church where beadlush resides is up for sale. I think the article said it was 1MM.
  3. I have been wondering about this property too. I did notice today that the grass has finally been mowed.
  4. Thanks for the Morningside pics! I actually really like the townhomes. Hopefully the apartments turn out good too. In a recent NPR interview the guy that is developing Morningside said that his company builds most of their properties to condo standards. Hopefully if condos become hot again, these can be sold.
  5. Good point about Nova's. I always thought Nova's had a lot of potential but everytime I go in the front area just seems dirty which makes me question the food. I feel like if they would fix it up they could be a pretty cool coffee shop. Plus they are on the right hand side for incoming traffic and have a parking lot. They could make a lot of money. Hopefully with the recent expansion they have some new ideas for the store.
  6. When we went to the open house a few weeks ago they mentioned it was moved to April. I can't remember the date though.
  7. I saw the rumor on Facebook. I don't see anything concrete in the comments. I have heard that the Beaver bought the building across from Lupies. That building is being worked on but I don't know if it will be a Thirsty Beaver.
  8. Any news on the property at Central and Tippah Park Ct? This is the property next to McDonalds. I am surprised this hasn't been developed yet.
  9. It's actually pretty large. They marked it off a few weeks ago. I think we are going to join. I think they will have adult hours too.
  10. I am not sure if anyone has mentioned this but here is the website for the new pool. Currently it is only open to people who live in the neighborhood. There will be limited parking so everyone will have to walk or bike to the pool. It will have a bar too:) http://oldchathamswim.com
  11. I am not 100% sure but supposedly a Five Guys will go in between Yama and Healthy Home Market. Anyone else hear this?
  12. Wasn't sure if this was mentioned already but the LuLu space is supposedly going to become a Pure Pizza. I think there is one Uptown? There is a lot of pizza places already on Central with House of Pizza, Pizza Peel, Fuel and Intermezzo. I did look and it seems like it has good reviews.
  13. Looks like another step in the right direction. http://insidebiz.com/news/developer-makes-cost-concessions-virginia-beach-arena-deal-nears
  14. Yea, the neighborhood association had a survey up for a while asking questions about how much you would be willing to pay for startup costs, yearly fees and what you would like to see at the pool. I am not sure about the results though. Supposedly there is a Pool Committee. I may go to the next meeting to see if I can find something out. Here is the link. http://www.plazamidwood.org/Pool
  15. I don't mind it. I don't like the orientation on Thurmond Place but I would assume the Van Landingham would rather have views of the front of the townhouses. I thought the pool was dead, but I guess they are still considering it. Supposedly it is a private pool that people in the neighborhood can join. I always thought Midwood Park would be a better location for a pool, but I guess you would have to get the city to build it.
  16. That is interesting. I've noticed a few people looking at it when I drive by. I would think that would be a pretty good spot for some sort of development.
  17. Does anyone have any updates on the Three Publicans bar? I haven't seen any progress on that building. I did hear where Healthy Home Market should open in August.
  18. I was wondering the same thing. I would think it would rent pretty fast. Also, I haven't noticed much progress on the new bar at Central and Thomas.
  19. Thanks! I agree, I bet they will try to acquire the land along Morningside too. I wouldn't mind having a Walgreens on that corner as long as Krazy Fish finds a new location. Also, that's great news about the parcel beside McDonalds. I would think that lot has great potential.
  20. I've seen some chatter about Walgreens buying the daycare near Krazy Fish and also trying to buy Krazy Fish. This was on the PM Facebook group page. Krazy Fish is trying to raise funds to buy its' building. Seems odd to be bc it is not a corner lot with a light. Also, does anyone know when/if the vacant lot next to McDonalds will redevelop?
  21. I'm not really a fan of the new colors/logo. It really looks like they copied UCF.
  22. Does anyone know if the Brodt Music space is still going to be a brewery?
  23. Does anyone know who may lease the space beside ParkWest barber school? I think this used to be No Grease space. It will be interesting to see what types of businesses will fill the space on Central as space becomes available.
  24. The Pizza Peel announced on its Facebook page that it is moving into the Kelly Tire spot. I guess it is official now. No timeline mentioned.
  25. That is great news about Kelly Tire. I've heard it is a great business but I would think it could utilize land in another location in Plaza Midwood. Hopefully it doesn't move too far away. I actually like the Pizza Peel, so I think it would be a good addition. This area is really booming right now.
