Updated Metropolitan Statistical Area and Combined Statistical Area population information from the US Census Bureau for Arkansas cities and comparable regional areas. Apologies for the crappy formatting. Copying from excel loses something in the transfer. All Arkansas MSAs other than Hot Springs and Texarkana continue to grow. Regionally, it appears that Little Rock is doing better than Jackson and Shreveport, although growth is slow. NWA continues to grow at a good clip. As for the CSAs, Little Rock, Jonesboro, and Tulsa are growing while all others are shrinking. On another note, why is there no CSA for Northwest Arkansas? Fazoli's returns to the Little Rock Metro. Fazoli's is located in the former Pizza Hut on Warden Drive next door to Texas Roadhouse. George's Restaurant will open in the former Cafe Prego on Kavanaugh in Little Rock.

Weinerschnitzel is coming to Arkansas! Never been to one, but according to the announcement, they will be opening 20 or so restaurants in the state.

I don't recall specific locations in Little Rock. 5 in the Little Rock Metro area. Only the Conway location has been built. Meanwhile, they started popping up in NWA. I've been to the one in Conway. I like it. I wish there was one in LR.

Seems like I recall Pies & Pints opening in the Promenade some time ago. Has that gone kaput?

Anybody know what is being done next to the empty parking lot across from the old Alltel complex at the corner of Cedar Hill and Riverfront Drive? Several years ago the powers that be tore up the soccer fields to create a parking lot that is now 99.9% of the time empty. Is there a need for yet another empty parking lot? What else could it be?

Okay, I found some nonstop flights. I found one on a Wednesday, one on a Saturday, and one on a Sunday, but this was not every Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday as there was not a nonstop on the following Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday. Weird scheduling for sure.

Not doubting you, but I cannot find any information on this. SWA's website doesn't show nonstop in November or December.

Construction/remodeling is underway at the former Pier One location on Bowman. It will become an AutoZone location.

I forgot to add, the Chick-Fil-A will have a walk-up window and an area for outside dining. I believe that's what I was told.

Chick-Fil-A is reportedly building on the site of the former McDonald's location at 7th and Broadway. It will be a drive-thru only location. The site of the location will encompass the former McDonald's property as well as the property located directly east of there, the former site of Ciao's and Bill's Lock and Safe(?). This will allow entrance and exit from Broadway as well as Spring Street.

Answering my own question, but it is now a marijuana dispensary.

I noticed there is work at Chenal and Autumn Road where the traffic island has been removed. There are also barrels at Chenal and Bowman. I'm wondering whether the traffic islands blocking thru-traffic in the third lane (right turning lane) of Chenal will be removed. This would open up traffic for three lanes going west on Chenal from the Shackleford overpass all the way to Markham. Anybody got info?

The former Zoe's Kitchen is being remodeled so it can be....a bank. Chase Bank is expanding into the Little Rock Metro. It is opening a larger location on South University near The District. It is also opening branch banks and the former Zoe's Kitchen will be one of them. Remodeling is happening now, including construction of drive-thrus. There are several former Arvest Bank locations just down the street that are now vacant. The one in front of Planet Fitness is closed and up for lease. The one in The Heights at Cantrell and University is now vacant. I'm not sure why those locations, already made for a bank, couldn't be of use to Chase.
