  1. Nice!! The Curio brand has some pretty interesting hotels. I believe this is the first for NC?
  2. Raleigh ranked 3rd best performing city for 2023: https://milkeninstitute.org/sites/default/files/2023-05/bestperformingcities2023.pdf
  3. I must say that i'm in love with Dix Park. Great location, great views of downtown, lots of open space for concerts and festivals, and great for just going for a walk or run.
  4. I believe that you love the beauty of the Triangle area more than the people that live here. LOL
  5. I would prefer a cool name like Foggy Bottom.
  6. Plans for phase 2 of Raleigh Crossings (301 Hillsborough St site) is expected to be a 40 story mixed use tower. Hopeful that the renderings come out soon.
  7. If you read that article objectively, you'll see that its focus is on how these opportunities benefit Greensboro, even though neither are physically located in Guilford County. That is hard to debate, and we all know that a large portion of NC will benefit economically from these operations.
  8. I was referring to the article moreso than your post. That article is very slanted. Most of the marketing and economic development activity to lure the Wolfspeed plant and Vinfast operation happened in the Triangle, but from reading that article you would think that Greensboro was solely responsible for luring and winning both, and will be the only municipality to benefit.
  9. That article is not completely accurate. Wolfspeed and Vinfast are in Chatham County, which is part of the Triangle. Furthermore, any wins for the Triad includes the other Triad cities. It's not all about Greensboro.
  10. 36 story tower planned for Nash Square site: https://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/news/2023/04/06/downtown-raleigh-tower-berkeley-cafe-development.html
  11. The TBJ is now reporting that this will be a 36 story luxury tower. https://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/news/2023/04/06/downtown-raleigh-tower-berkeley-cafe-development.html
  12. That location is perfect for a tall structure. Wish the design were better but it will help expand the skylike. Do we know how many stories?
  13. There is fencing up and it looks like some demo work has begun.
  14. FC's strategy may not be on attracting the likes of Google, Microsoft, and Apple as corporate customers, but I do believe their focus is on making capital readily available to the entrepreneurial tech and venture markets. This is certainly a step in the right direction.
  15. I have to believe that this was part of the rationale for their interest in SVB. Very smart strategic move on their part.
  16. Seems like this hotel was being developed for a decade or longer. Glad it's finally opening.
  17. The Marriott Moxy brand is coming to West St. in the Glenwood South district. There are no Moxys currently in NC, but one is also in the works in Charlotte. https://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/news/2023/02/23/plans-for-new-moxy-hotel-marriott-raleigh.html?cx_testId=40&cx_testVariant=cx_45&cx_artPos=2#cxrecs_s
  18. RDU has a number of low cost carriers, including Southwest and Allegiant, which has helped drive down overall fares at that airport.
  19. I've been watching this area slowly and quietly develop over the last couple of years and feel that it is one of the up and coming hot spots in the city. Keep an eye on the East End. https://www.eastendraleigh.com/ https://raltoday.6amcity.com/coming-soon-east-end-market
  20. The main reasons why Triad flyers frequently travel to CLT and RDU are related to flight costs and flight options/availability. Reducing the number of gates at PTI goes against logic if they are hoping to reduce costs and provide more flight options. Both of those things are usually a result of having greater airline competition at an airport, which obviously means having an ample number of gates. Reduce the number of gates and the chances of scoring more low fare carriers that would help drive down costs goes out the door. Maybe they know something that we don't, but this seems like a bad decision if their goal is to increase the number of flyers out of PTI.
  21. The fact that they would spend $150-200 M to consolidate concourses and reduce the overall number of gates speaks volumes about what sort of growth they project in the future.
  22. This tower is looking more and more impressive each day. I feel lucky to have this view every morning when I wake up. Reminds me of just how far Raleigh has come and all of the potential for the future.
  23. I like Reno's much better because it would be unique for Raleigh. The current design is, well...blahhhhh.
  24. Planned Kimpton new hotel designs. Raleigh, NC gets the first and Reno, NV gets the second. Wish we could switch...
  25. The Exchange tower is rising rapidly. Also caught a beautiful view of NH in the background.
