  1. Folly Beach (Charleston) at sunset.
  2. Half of Columbia, SC's skyline from the Congaree River.
  3. I used it as my background anyway and it still looks good to me.
  4. ^If I'm not mistaken, I believe the same type of system is used for the Newberry route into Columbia.
  5. Thanks for the info. I never ventured into any of the stores to find that out. However, it still doesn't apply to me as I opt to carry a money clip most of the time.
  6. It makes no difference to me because being a man, I won't be spending any money there anyway. However, I still think the incoming JC Penny should at least switch places with the Macy's at Columbia Place (but that won't happen).
  7. ^I didn't realize that some of those buildings were that old. I'm glad that my pic could conjure some memories
  8. I just had a thought. Coach would not be a good match with the JC Penny coming in.
  9. That sounds about right b/c that's an area I frequent a lot when I visit. Thanks for everyone's help.
  10. This photo was taken a couple of years ago. I don't know what street or area this is (even though the photo was taken by me ), but maybe one of you natives can help me out. ^Well now that I see the GP Tower and 191 in the background, I know the area is DT, but I still don't know the street it was taken from.
  11. Where did u get that information from? Tell us more...elaborate, please.
  12. I agree. I have soooo much love for Charleston, but I don't see it surpassing Columbia. Columbia's central location and low cost of living will drive more people towards this area.
  13. ^Nice! That area is very pristine looking. I must make plans to visit again.

    Five Points

True, but the whole plaza would have had to be razed in order for that to be done.
  15. That would be nice and convenient for the people in that area. I wonder if it would be big enough for a Kroger.
  16. People are probably more prone to use the train b/c trains do not have to stop for traffic. Buses have to travel on the same roads and highways as cars thus causing its riders to experience the same traffic jams as automobiles.
  17. Krazee, that next to last comment (before the biased comment about Greenville and Charleston having much more vibrant DTs) sounds like something u would say.LOL. I agree with it wholeheartedly though.
  18. Great points. I always wondered why those two malls were across the street from each other. Just seems kind of odd to me.
  19. I didn't know that thing was in use. I thought it was an ostentatious decoration. Is it still in use today?
  20. And I just read in the Metro section of the paper that there was a meeting tonight in the Richland Co. library discussing the Commuter Rail Feasibility Study conducted by the Central Midlands Council of Governments. They discussed potential commuter lines from Batesburg-Leesville, Camden and Newberry to DT Columbia. That's real ironic, isn't it. If i wasn't at work and the article wasn't so tiny (I barely noticed it), I may have checked it out.
  21. The only thing I can do is shake my head in disbelief as I thought we were progessing.
