HUH! Old Navy @ Cola Place? I thought it was doing well.

I do not really eat much seafood but I've been told that Hyman's Seafood on Meeting street is the best. I believe what I've been told only because everytime I past the place when I'm in Charleston, the line is out the door and about a block down Meeting st. The website is http://www.hymanseafood.com/. I think Rachael Ray did a segment on Hyman's on her 40 dollars a day show.

I saw that also. Is that going to be M Cafe's second location DT or are they going to close the one on Sumter st?

Did anyone hear that the Ravenel bridge may not hold its title much longer as the longest cable stayed bridge in N. America? From what I saw on the news, a bridge is bring constructed in either Lousiana or Arkansas (I forgot which one) that will span a little longer than Charleston's.

Since Columbia Place is doing so well, I wonder if they'll bring GAP back. We all know Columbia needs more than one Gap store. Anyone?

Any news on why the land is being cleared on Garner's Ferry road near/on the old dairy farm in front of Bi-Lo. If I'm not mistaken it seems that I heard a while back that there was going to be some type of lifestyle center there.

Very cool but I wish they (Columbia Chamber of Commerce) would use better vantage points when taking pics of Columbia's skyline. Driving from West Columbia (a little before the Jarvis Klapman bridge), one is able to see the entire city skyline (including the state capitol and the BOA building) which would be a better pic of the city as a whole (IMO).

^ NICE! I'm glad there's someone in on UP such as yourself that actually gives "REAL" restaurant reports. I'm not the type of person to just walk in a restaurant that I'm not familiar with so your reports sort of bring the actual restaurant to me. Also, it looks like the male counterpart of Racheal Ray has been discovered here on UP.

My thoughts exactly. I've always liked the Vista a lot better than Five points but I too have noticed that the Vista's buildings look too much alike. Once this new project is built and five points' streetscape is 100% finished, I think the Vista will come seconhand to Five Points in my book. Hek, Five Points is already starting to look good with what they've done so far with the streetscaping.

WIS news showed a rendering of what this project will look like and it is going to be nice. I can't find any renderings of it online though.

I sure have. All over Columbia I ride around and say to myself "Where do all of these people come from?".

I think Atlanta could solve part of the problem if it's leaders aimed for housing ITP that is more affordable. I'm sure there are plenty of young college grads as well as other working to middle class individuals that would love in town living. However, it's very easy to give up the 1500 sq. ft. one bedroom condo in Atlantic Station for a 3000 sq. ft. three bedroom home in the burbs for the same price. Providing less expensive housing options in the city would help ease a lot of Atlanta's gridlock. Affordable housing may also be a way to save the city (or metro area) some money as it COULD eliminate the need for the expansion of the rail system.
