It sounds to me like the pandemic and the new “work from home” trend could be contributing to a change of pace on 1001’s construction. Since Amazon is apparently redesigning the interior of Amazon 2 to fit their new “normal”…I would imagine that HAS to have them also redesigning 1001, at least on the inside. It may also mean that Amazon is not sure it needs 1001 (just speculation). I don’t know how much “work from home” will change Amazon’s building sizes.

Wow! If all of that is old tint…then yes, that’s patchwork. Looks awful. -

Looking at the photos, it’s obvious they are changing the tint on the windows…which is what I’m talking about. Not sure which is the new and which is the old. -
I actually like the thought of the Titans’ stadium being further back in the development and having a nice park setting all along the Cumberland. That could be our “Central Park” if they’re smart about it.

Mayor appears to be dragging his feet. However…you’d think the Bristol guys would be throwing a public fit if this were somehow slowing them down.- 457 replies

Which windows are the new window? The silver-ish…or the blue/green? -
Yes…yes we are.

Would love to have one really tall tower downtown with these type of windows. Wouldn’t want more than one…but having one would look really unique and give us something different and stylish.

After seeing how well Alcove looks with the slight off-skew boxes and different color glass / window designs…I’m really hoping we get more buildings with different shaded glass and windows.

Dollywood’s a fun trip for a family. That entire area is fun. A little too touristy…but with the mountains and ability to rent cabins way back in the woods, really nice. I even enjoy walking around G’burg a little. Some decent restaurants. Traffic is the only thing. Got stuck on the Cade’s Cove loop one Sunday when the Vols were playing in Knoxville (Sat) and it took almost all day to get back out.

The question is this: do you think it could be improved? I like the idea of Stix…but the execution, IMO, is lacking. Some LED lighting…maybe different materials, etc, would go a long ways towards something more appealing. Again…just IMO.

I still laugh at the fact that unpainted telephone poles were produced and then the city asked for volunteers to help paint them.

Sad that two large “meh” projects are being built in such prominent places (Haven and this one).

I would imagine 10+ acres of that would be PRETTY pricey. But I love the look of it.

All that asphalt. Wish there was another way to provide parking without acres and acres of blacktop.

I wouldn’t mind Stix if it were more elaborate. Painted telephone poles sticking out of a greenery patch is just so basic. If they would have used some type of higher end “poles” with LED lights on each color with some kind of nice base, it could have been a really special piece. However…it just looks unfinished…kinda like the Musica statues at Music Row.

Surely with all of the high dollar skyscrapers soon surrounding the roundabout…Stix’s days are numbered? Got to think we’ll eventually put something worthy in that circle.

60 story honky tonk. Tallest building in Nashville. -
What are your thoughts on all of Nashville height restrictions in the inner loop? Are most of them head-scratchers…or do you feel they have merit? From the outside looking in, most of them seem arbitrary to me…but maybe there’s a good reason?
