Is this REAL?

I've never seen the Richmond Lifestyle Center - can't figure out where that one is...looks like it's off Broad Street, but that's all I can figure out. The first one is definitely the development in the bottom next to the stadium.  Great finds!

The 700 Centre development is officially known as "The Edison Apartments" and has 174 units.

I found their website. Sorry if it's known info already:

Maybe it's prelim renderings for:

Boulevard development
Coliseum replacement

Not sure???

Doubt Coliseum replacement. Blvd development is probably the closest I can think of with this.

Then again, it could also be one of those joke fantasy renderings architecture firms put on their websites to torture citizens hoping for something like it/

I love the look of the "Pavillion" - would be a nice addition to the Bottom. Different from the recent renderings of the proposed development on the north of Broad (though I know they were just conceptual). The "Lifestyle Center" has to be pure fantasy - there's nothing in town that matches any of those buildings and not enough empty space anywhere to put all of that up.

^^ If anyone wants a link to that article, (it's RTD), here it is:

http://www.timesdispatch.com/news/local/city-of-richmond/documents-offer-peek-at-the-future-of-the-boulevard/article_b64dba57-b023-5f55-9aed-3564b7a64141.html?TNNoMobile

The main image is, indeed, Odell's website's rendering of "lifestyle center".

OMG! Our neighbors certainly like to whine don't they? The reader responses are infuriating.

I'm particularly a fan of the first one that appears at the top:

I hate the plan for the Boulevard, stripping it of its identity and traditions. The richmond citizens are losing more than they are gaining.

really, is it all about the money, not of the cuture and memories along the boulevard. the whole thing makes me sick.

Identity? Identity?? Traditions??

If you haven't seen it yet, here are the plans for the Brown's Island Dam Walk.  There is a nice .pdf on this page you can download for even more detail.  I'm not sure I'm totally sold on the design.  I'd kinda like to see something a bit nicer (better examples in other cities are in the .pdf), but if they can make the structure look shiny and new, I could accept it.  :)  I would also prefer to see the "high ground" plan be built on the Manchester side.  What are your thoughts?

While Google-stalking I noticed this development in North Church Hill on either side of N. 28th between R and S Streets.  I need to run over and check it out but I do not recall seeing anything on it.  Parcel is owned by Richmond Affordable Housing and listed as 25-99 apartments (plus 5-11 on East side).  The N. 29th fronting is also part of the group.

Can anyone tell me what's going on at the corner of Cowardin Ave and McDonough St?

I pass the lot at night occasionally and see construction equipment but I can't tell if it's an active construction site or perhaps just a staging area for one of the other projects in the area.

I believe that is the shopping center that was to be anchored by a Family Dollar/Dollar Tree.

Here it is: http://www.richmondbizsense.com/2013/09/03/southside-development-pivots-toward-retail/

Looks like he is a bit behind schedule: "Cole is aiming to finish his construction on the Dollar Tree store in February."

I believe that parcel is not large enough for a shopping center.   I was really hoping for a restaurant.  Really hurting for eating establishments in that area.  There's money to be made with the right places.
