1-2pm: ACTIVISTS UNDER ATTACK: WHY GREEN(SCARE) IS THE NEW RED(SCARE)

Right now, the FBI is in the midst of environmentalist witch hunt condemned

by the National Lawyers Guild as an unconstitutional abuse of authority.

The FBI has engaged in an orchestrated campaign: issuing subpoenas to

environmental activists, conducting large scale roundups of activists,

levying unprecedented penalties for property crimes, and using threats of

severe sanctions to leverage fear of conviction and force individuals to

turn state's evidence. Jeff Hogg, a nursing student accused of nothing, is

sitting in jail right now for refusing to answer questions about his

politics and political associations. The political repression and tactics

utilized by the FBI affect all of us.

OK Folks - I've been waiting to post this up, but its' time now with summer half over...

The New England Great Feast of the Holy Ghost in Fall River is the largest Azorean Portuguese feast in the United States. It runs Aug. 24 to Aug. 27 at Kennedy Park in Fall River.

The Feast of the Blessed Sacrament in New Bedford is largest Portuguese feast in the country, and runs Aug. 3-6 in New Bedford: http://www.portuguesefeast.com/

These two are the largest Portuguese feasts you will ever attend. If you've never been to one, arrive hungry as there is more than enough food to feed everybody. If you've never had Carne de Espeto (beef kabobs you grill yourself), well, you've never lived...

If you have time any of these weekends, please go and enjoy Portuguese food and culture, and have fun!
