I would love it if something like this could be built on the Fogarty site! I think the skybridge that's been talked about for the Fogarty site would also work well coming out of that glass.

I did a Google image search for Gtech, and this building came up. It's the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center. Imagine if *our* Gtech building looked a little more like this? It would be a few floors higher, could have bigger windows for a more modernist look, and that glass tower could be extended for a similar effect to the current building. While I do like the current building more than I thought I would, I still wonder what else could have been there.

^personally I do not like it, and the more I see the Gtech building I love it, I think every view of the building is good, except from the prospect park angle. I dont know if it is N/W/E/S, but that angle does nothing for the building.

it's not really a glass building though. it's a brick building with a glass structure attached.

At a distance I like the building, but up close I am glad we don't have it. A little too common, brick, *yawn*.

I don't like the horizontal orientation of the windows. Make the windows vertical and I'd like it more.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I like the building from that angle. It looks very clean and streamlined, and I enjoy the way it contrasts with the brick of the mall, Westin, and Marriott.

I've been wondering too, I was thinking maybe when the paper comes down from the globe room. When the lobby is fully up and running. Last time I was there there were little things along the walkways that needed finishing. They seem to be in the punch list phase.

I like it too, the Basin is my favorite angle of the building.

EDIT: Actually the view from the Convention Center parking garage with the skybridge in the foreground is my favorite, but few people ever see that.

They are still doing a lot in the building itself. Hammering and sawing are part of my wife's daily background noise.

Is it truly completed if the top two floors and bottom retail sit empty?

the building is complete and the primary occupant (gtech) is there.

I would think that until multiple contractor vans stop taking up the right lane of Memorial, the building is not complete.
