Downtown Orlando Project Discussion

Clearing that horrible looking lot will be a huge gain just in itself.

Is this the lot across Orange at the corner of Orange & Jefferson?

Don't see any reason to rip up a perfectly good parking lot if there is no imminent project going up.

I'd rather see a paved lot there than a dirt lot any day.

Hope they at least put grass down.

Its just to knock down the shanty building and old drive through there.

It's not Jefferson???  It's Robinson, right?  The lot with that dumpy white building with the 2 carports/drive-thrus?

If it's that almost brand new surface lot @ Jefferson, this is stupid.

If it's the above-mentioned lot @ Robinson, this is an improvement!

I suppose that lot is no where near 2 acres, though.  Maybe it's the other lot with the carport @ Robinson?  That lot is a mess to get in and out of, too!  This is also an improvement, assuming they put the surface lot back.

I assumed that because the Catholic Diocese was mentioned in the original reference above, that he must've been talking about the nearest property to it with a large surface parking lot, which is at Orange and Jefferson directly across the street from them.

Looking on Google Maps Street View, I see that there is some kind of work going on at both locations, so maybe they're doing both = win/win.

The original building facing Wall St. with the terra cotta tiles was the home of Orlando's original telephone company, which Southern Bell eventually took over. The Gothamish monolith facing Washington St. was added later for additional telephone equipment.
