Here's a shot of the Joan of Arc statue in the French Quarter:

I'm pretty sure that's the same statue that used to sit between the World Trade Center and the Rivergate. Beautiful piece of art.

Of course it is. It was moved in connection with the construction of Harrah's.

I'm sure you've all heard of Brad Pitt's "Make it Right" foundation in the Lower 9 in New Orleans, and have seen the pink tents representing future houses. Well, here it is lit up at night:

The Brad Pitt 9th Ward pic is great! I've never seen the Lower 9 look so...colorful!

In connection with the Joan of Arc statue, there is an exact copy (or is ours a copy?) right near the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I was surprised to see it. It is also gold.

A couple of shots from the Hornets game last night. The Hornets smashed the Heat 114-88 in front of a very energetic croud of 16,133 at the New Orleans Arena. These were taken with my cell phone, so excuse the crappy quality. Also, these were taken at halftime, so don't let the empty seats fool you.

This intersection was made famous by N.O. rapper B.G-13th Ward, Valence & Magnolia. This block is called Death Row because many murders/shootings have been attributed to this intersection. Arguably the most infamous block in America and New Orleans.

B.G. is 1/4 of the biggest selling rap group to come out of New Orleans, the Hot Boys, along with Lil' Wayne, etc. He's probably the 3rd or 4th most well known rapper out of New Orleans next to Lil' Wayne or Master P. All of that aside, I have no idea why anyone would be that infatuated with Valence and Magnolia. VL is not the most famous block in New Orleans and definitely not America.
