  1. Well since you know it all, give me some close by examples. Nevermind, if you did know it all we wouldn't be having this discussion. Carry on. I apologize people, I forgot who I was talking to.
  2. Not in the same proximity. You rarely see a KFC, Popeyes, or Scooters right next to each other around here. Only exception is Popeyes and Churchs, but they're owned by the same company and even doesn't happen a lot. With the burger places it's more common, but still not prevelant. I can only think of one or two Taco Bells that are next to other fast food restaurants. I can only think of one BK that is next to McD's.
  3. Ha.. All new Chick-Fil-A in the New Orleans area are opening within blocks of Raising Canes restaurants.
  4. Wal-mart attracts bums and loud music throughout the night? I'm no fan of Wal-Mart, but....
  5. That actually makes Louisiana look bad vs making LSU look good. All the US News rankings prove is that LSU is the only Tier 1 university in the state and then it's ranked 124 at that. That's not to mention that US News rankings sometimes tend to lean more toward endowments and campus life then necessarily academics and graduation rates. There are cities alone with more universities in their corp. limits that rank higher than LSU on the US News list, yet we as a state only have one. Give me a break. Good to know that a Baton Rougean takes LSU's website and US News as an expert when it comes to how great the university is. Not necessarily a fan of Houston either, but apparently they're doing something right, since they spot #16 on that same list of universities nationally.
  6. No word on a BR to NO connection. On the other hand, construction is about to begin on the new Loyola streetcar line and plans for a St. Claude/Rampart line with future extensions to Poland have been green lighted. There's also plans for an Elysian Fields line to run from the river to the lake at UNO. http://www.nola.com/business/index.ssf/2011/01/streetcar_service_along_rampar.html#incart_mce
  7. These remind me a lot of the new HANO "Housing Projects" going up in New Orleans to replace the large brick tenements and towers. Actually, the projects look a lot better than that.
  8. I actually saw a crane on the BioInnovation site the other day lifting beams. The Cancer Center is coming along well. For some reason I didn't expect it to be as tall.
  9. B.G. is 1/4 of the biggest selling rap group to come out of New Orleans, the Hot Boys, along with Lil' Wayne, etc. He's probably the 3rd or 4th most well known rapper out of New Orleans next to Lil' Wayne or Master P. All of that aside, I have no idea why anyone would be that infatuated with Valence and Magnolia. VL is not the most famous block in New Orleans and definitely not America.
