I guess it would be out of the question if I started using it :P

 Alright Tommy, you go walk around Richmond trying to find a point to actually throw the word "lagniappe" into a conversation, and see if anyone has any idea what you are talking about. ;)

What the hell is north Louisiana? I thought it ended at Baton Rouge?

Louisiana does.

But that's where North Louisiana starts... you know, the state who seceded from the rest of the state after some guy named Nate down in New Orleans started a statewide civil war.

That's cool... someone's got to drink the world's supply of Coors Light. We'll do our part.

Man I'm a goob. I didn't tell you what happened earlier.

I may have broken my toe, but I'm just going to have to see. My wife was on the phone with her father and I came into the room shadow kickboxing, and I did a spin and kicked into the air (not near my wife, by the way) a couple times. On the second kick, I kicked right on the back side of the couch, which as I'm sure you know on most couches is the hard side. Just wood covered with a thin layer of material. Holy crap... I'm in such pain and the beer isn't doing anything for me. And this ain't just any beer, my friend, this is the cool stuff in the blue aluminum bottles... heck yeah. I've even been using them to ice down my toe... to no avail. It's very much black and blue and very much swollen.

OUCH. Man that sucks. I think we've all had our run in's with couches, and it's always the hard side. I've never kicked the back of the couch kickboxing, but I have had about 1,000 different incidents with stubbing a toe on the bottom corner. And that's never fun. I imagine there was quite a bit of screaming and cursing after you kicked the couch? That normally helps me get rid of the pain for about 3 seconds. ;)

Oh man, I ran into the bedroom and let out a few screams. That was hard to suppress. But I still couldn't help but laugh... it was funny. I've stubbed my toe so many times in my life, particularly in the middle of the night, but never before have I blindly just hauled off and kicked the ever-loving CRAP out of the couch. Wow. I'll never pick a fight with the couch again.

Now that I see it quoted, it sounds like something I'd say drunk.

Or like back in high school when I was staying the night at a friend's house. He was trippin bad. He went to "use the bathroom" but didn't come back for probbaly a half hour or so, so I went looking for him. When I found him, he had a broom in his hand and was swinging at the washing machine. Apparently it was talking to him with its mouth (the lid.) Uhh... yeah. Needless to say, I never stayed the night at Jon's house again. We're still good friends, though, when he's not in jail.

The fact that he has problems that are leading him to jail is not funny, but damn, you can't help but laugh about the washing machine stuff. That was hilarious.

It actually scared the hell out of me, since I didn't do drugs. That was also more reason for me NOT to do drugs.

Jon is a BAD klepto, even though he's drug- and alcohol-free now. Stealing is his biggest vice, and no matter what he does he can't shake it. We've been friends since Kindergarten, though, so I'll always be there for my pal when I can.

Ouuch. Gamblers lose $2.38 billion in year at Louisiana casinos.

Glad I don't gamble. :shok:

It never ceases to amaze me how much people lose at casinos.

I always try to remember this handy little piece of info: those beautiful casinos and huge hotels were built on the backs of losers, not winners.

WHAT IS THIS ?? Something I drew last year in my spare-time and wanted to share on UP.

map008yu1.jpg

I named it Palm Island City. It's a mix of Vegas, Miami, and San Diego that's on an island just off the mainland. It's a dense urban area.

map009ua8.jpg

This is the north/south view. P.I.C. is connected by 3 large bridges to the left. The airport is on top in a tight space. The green on the bottom is much higher terrain/nature preserve with a few winding roads.

map012av0.jpg

There are 2 major Freeways running east/west; and 2 north/south (the Downtown-Airport Connector & Airport to Naval Base)

map012av0.jpg

Sorry for the distortion; This a close-up of downtown, uptown(right), University(magenta), CoastalFreeway & Park.

map014rp5.jpg

Hope yall enjoyed !

I am currently working on another City called Portropolis. It has some new urbanism with lack of a freeway in the city center.

Wow Richy, great job on those drawings! :good: Seriously man, those look like genuine maps for real cities, to come up with something off the top of your head and then to put it onto paper like that is cool, but your's also look extremely nice and realistic. Awesome!

BTW, you must love Sim City!
