Personally I'd complain to corporate, I've had that done to me a few times, and after a couple complaints (it was certain employees being lazy), they've never done it again. My understanding is corporate takes that seriously. Plus they refund you or give you coupons, don't remember which. Its not like McDonalds where they don't give a crap lol

I did that. Went straight to the Taco Bell feedback website and gave them the lowest rating possible on quantity of food. Looked like they were more interested in cleanliness and COVID safety practices than anything else. At any rate, in the comment section I let them have it good. Haven't heard anything back from them yet, though.

No, don't use the tellthebell site, use https://www.tacobell.com/contact-us

I got a reply within 2 days every time I've contacted them (like 3 total times, twice to complain about restaurants/employees not worthy of the bell, and third for trouble with the mobile ordering app double charging me)

That "review" is my exact issue with Scott J.  He didn't need to post anything.  He could have sent that sentiment in a tweet, or not at all.  But no, he has to write some haughty extraneous thing.

I think the role of food reviewer has shifted in the past decade with the explosion of blogs and vlogs and instagram.  He hasn't.

The issue I have with him is he wants to play both sides. He wants to be a "critic" but puts his name and face everywhere to get clout and get the benefits of free items that comes with that role. His criticisms are then completely null and void to me because everyone knows who he is and is basically just running himself like a Yelper who wants free stuff. Its a joke.

Well, it seems that the meltdown that was 33 and Melt has not only returned, but returned with a vengeance.  First they were taking on the local media for not wearing masks, then some defying the closing orders, then some interesting (not really, but that's a polite word) comments on the racial situation, and now a "Patriot Meal" where it is a mask-free zone for anyone who hates masks and thinks they destroy your personal freedoms.

I'll bow in advance for the pun.

I'll put this here, though I suppose it could also go in the NQ thread or the one devoted to the Magnolia storage unit.

I'm happy to see this type restaurant going into downtown. It seems strange to go to a storage unit to enjoy fine dining , but there seems to be a small trend toward this.

Looks like Zoës Kitchen at O&M is closed.

Was by there yesterday later in the afternoon and it looked closed, though the menu board lights and some small lights were on.

I figured maybe they were just closing earlier for the time being.

Just checked this.... https://zoeskitchen.com/locations/store/fl/sodo

A couple of other locations appear to have closed too.

Florida Today revs up the Edsel to check out great eating places up the coast in Volusia.

It’s a pretty good list, although I would have added The Breakers (it may be closed because they serve a LOT of alcohol) and JB’s Fish Camp down toward Bethune Beach.

We have a new bit of royalty at SoDo, so let’s all bao to the latest monarch (not to be confused with The Monarch in South Eola) at Bao’s Castle.

I’ve been wanting to try frying Brussels sprouts and with description I’ll give it a whirl. It’s nice to know if I make a, ummmm, hash of it, they have my back at Bao’s Castle.

The Tap Room at Dubsdread is already one of my favorite places to eat (and dining on the porch under some of the oldest oak TREES around is a definite bonus) and you will also probably see more FFO’s per sq ft. than anywhere else in town . What could be better?

Well. Now they’re offering free COVID tests to boot. Is this a great country or what?

I thought I previously posted it in here, but I tried Castle shortly after they opened.  I cannot recommend the soft shell crab bao highly enough.  Plus, open late.  Non-pandemic / weight-loss Andy is VERY excited about this addition to the hood.

The Juicy Crab is now open for takeout and online orders in the former Panera Bread at Market at Southside.

Well, guess I know what I'm trying for one of my meals this weekend.

FYI when I walked by last week they had a sign that they were reopening August 6th.  I'll double check the next two days and report back.

Let’s try takeout from the Black Bean Deli’s new WP location:

https://www.scottjosephorlando.com/reviews/55-cuban/5319-takeout-from-black-bean-deli-in-winter-park

Scott J says it’s just as good as Black Bean has ever been (which is pretty darn tasty).

I’m sticking with the one in Colonialtown in the old Phillips 66 station, though, as it’s closer. Whenever I go, I can look longingly across the street and wish my beloved Morrison’s would return.

*sings, “Someone’s in the kitchen at Morrison’s...*

Orlando Magazine checks out some of the best African-American owned restaurants and food trucks in the region.

Of course, I’m still partial to Nikki’s Place myself. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Although, I may have to head up to Shantell’s in Sanford for some of what sounds like amazing fried chicken.
