Yes. It has been there for about a week now.

No, there's not a plaque other than ones on the sides of that stone which list contributors. The stone face that opens towards the square has details about Townes painted on it as well as another copy of that famous formula at the bottom of it all.

I'm not sure I like the location though. Other than the temptation for children to climb on it, which will be there anyway, I think I would have put that stone over in the middle of the grassy part of the square near the end where the Townes statue is.

Either way, I'm glad they finally put something up about him. More than once I've seen kids running around it, asking their parent who the man on the bench is, and the parent saying they didn't know. I usually don't speak up, for fear of being a know-it-all. But still, glad it has a marker.

Thanks, NYT! Yes, this was taken on Saturday during Fall for Greenville. We're in there just about every Saturday...just ask Jack. It usually pretty busy on Saturdays, especially during the summer, but this past Saturday took the cake.

Great shots as usual RT!

You can't hide much in a clear blue sky. Photoshop's spot repair will clean that right up.

I think my lens must have the same problem. Either that, or I've captured a UFO! This was taken on the Furman Campus this weekend. It is an HDR composite of three shots...

One thing I've noticed is that HDR really makes spots on the lens stand out.

Thanks, Skyliner! I had to artificially boost the contrast on it a bit as it turned out darker than I had hoped. I need to get a faster lens or remember to bring my tripod next time.
