Popular Post KJHburg
Hearing quite a bit about this project and will need its own thread if the rumors are true. 2 high rises one residential and one office. Cousins usually does not build spec so they must have a tenant lined up for the office. This is a brownfield site and thus many public filings are available. and from what I hear you will be able to view the uptown skyline from these towers as adjacent blocks are low rise buildings. Up to 273,000 sq ft of office space and up to 250 units (source Brownfield filings) plus parking for both probably podium style. Cousins does indeed own this land and has for a while. 305 Doggett and 242 W Tremont where the Gas Fired products and some other buildings were located. Don't know when it will be announced or started but it is inching closer to reality. any more questions talk to Cousins! More to come I am sure. 9
KJHburg
well look what I found small image but it shows the 2 towers in this PDF presentation from the Cousins webpage Page 14 June of 2022. 303 Tremont is the name I guess. https://s23.q4cdn.com/428942599/files/doc_presentations/2022/Investor-Presentation-New-JUNE22-vF.pdf If someone could lift that image from that PDF post it. Popular Post 15895
Noce! Podium parking I’ll always complain about (looks F’n ugly) but this has a great ground level portion makes this a net win Love how the ground level portion comes out further than the parking deck & tower. Very human scale and I don’t think anyone will even notice the parking deck at ground level. Now there just needs to be a protected bike lane there (I’m always gonna want more haha). I really like this. Edited July 21, 2022 by AirNostrumMAD

Popular Post Prodev
The full renderings I've seen are pretty impressive, so I wouldn't judge this too heavily. There's an activated alley between the two buildings that has retail through it and has a great feel.

Agreed here. this is was a placeholder of sorts for the investor presentation.
go_vertical
I think this was originally rumored to be about twenty floors. Is that still the case? Hard to make a guess off these renders.

Popular Post KJHburg
I am out of town points west of Charlotte but I heard through someone today Cousins submitted an apartment tower on this site called "The Residences at Tremont Alley" and it is around 28 stories. This thread is alive again! No word on the office tower that is a companion with this but that is likely not starting until anchor tenant is found. 8

Popular Post KJHburg
Here is the site and will be glad when something gets started on this paved over concrete site. At 28 stories this tower will have awesome views like the Vue.
Popular Post KJHburg
finally could read the Charlotte Observer article on the Tremont project. ""Cousins Properties is working through design plans for two towers for a 2.4-acre site along West Tremont Avenue, John McColl, executive vice president of development, told The Charlotte Observer. Each tower will be about 19 stories tall. The Atlanta real estate firm does not yet have a timeline on construction nor an exact cost. The firm is still working on receiving development and other necessary permits. Coined Tremont Alley, the project is set for an office building with up to 350,000 square feet of space, McColl said. And the apartment building is planned for 305 units. There will be up to 18,000 square feet of ground-floor retail across both buildings."" utcltjay
They do look pretty good. Definitely keeping in the style of what's been going up in the area lately. The thing that really sticks out though to me in this rendering is just how lame the Hawk is. SO uninspiring and lacking any creativity whatsoever. Glad it will be lost in the many projects around it.

Sort of leads to a question I've been thinking about - how much collaboration or synchronization is there between developers in South End (or Uptown for that matter) to purposely create a skyline aesthetic from certain angles in the city? For instance, it seems like towers in Uptown are situated so they look great coming down Wilkinson from the airport, or 77 south, or 277 north. Or is it just random and accidental?
