Chicago-based Albion Residential has announced a March opening for its $140 million mixed-use tower in The Gulch — with a handful of two-level townhomes included in the high-rise.

While these are very spectacular renderings with amazing views, I am not particularly a fan of the kitchen, dining and living functions all being in one open space,  Looking at the isometrics of the plans offered, i also would not like having to go through the kitchen to get to the living room either.  I prefer more intimate, discrete rooms.  Here is my new dining room I am finishing up remodeling this week.  It serves as a dual function of a library reading room rather than a single dining use for an hour or so dining. There is a new door to outside by the column in the photo with beveled glass in it.  The view may not be for miles but it looks out on 50 acres.  All for about $100,000.  I'll take country life please.
