  1. This is great news, and exciting to see it happening so quickly. We probably won't see much more progress for some time, but not seeing cars on those lots will certainly help as a reminder of big things to come!
  2. My goodness, the "ghosted" proposed towers surrounding this project are insane! Incredible that there are so many other projects in that same area. Let's all hope that they proceed so we can see some real density build up in Midtown.
  3. Miami city commissioners voted unanimously today to approve expanded floor plates needed to build the 1,049-foot One Brickell City Centre, in a second and final reading. Floorplates in the 80-story building will be the largest ever built in the city. The developers have previously said the project will have 1.6 million square feet of Class A office space. https://www.thenextmiami.com/one-brickell-city-centre-supertall-approved-groundbreaking-early-next-year/ I know there has been a lot of discussion lately about crowns on buildings, but I think this project works without the traditional crown because of its gorgeous design. I would love to see something like this in Nashville!
  4. I gotta say: I love that he's putting such a large tower there, but...it's quite plain, and I wish that the design was something more engaging. This just looks like a bigger 505. I'll take whatever we can get, though!
  5. Good news that Johnson Hall is being remodeled as it sincerely needs it. My biggest concern about all of these updates is that TTU continues to remove parking area without seemingly developing plans for how to address the worsening parking woes. I went to TTU from 2006-2010, and parking was awful then when they had much more availability. I can't imagine how bad it has gotten now.
  6. Demo complete at the location. Such a bummer to see some of the large trees that were cut down for this project. This will be a huge structure for the area that is mostly flat. Can't wait!
  7. Shot of the Four Seasons from the pedestrian bridge over the Cumberland River. I had a shot of it at night, but unfortunately, it came out really blurry.
  8. I wasn't asserting that they shouldn't be there, but simply that their presence seems to be odd in relation to new developments. Generally strip clubs and "luxury" apartments (the predominant bulk of units built these days) don't go hand in hand. Heck, even in Vegas the strip clubs are off strip and away from the more touristy areas of the city. I will be very interested to see how the area develops around Deja Vu.
  9. What a gorgeous building. Imagine being an Amazon employee and walking right across the street to the office. I wonder if this sets a new record for highest elevation YMCA in the US?
  10. These people and their frivolous lawsuits. I wish I had nothing better to do than throw away time and money complaining about the view from my apartment in a semi-sketch part of town.
  11. Is there a specific range from the airport that you think this would cease to be applicable? Say, if an 800 foot tower were to be built in The Nations (just for hypotheticals), would that distance not be suitably remote when in reference to BNA?
  12. Houston is so massive it makes Nashville look like a micropolitan. Its defined metro space may be only ~20% larger than Nashville, but the urban spread is astounding. People who complain about traffic in Nashville have no idea what it is like to live in H-Town.
  13. What a great piece of news! The dealerships have no place in that corridor going forward; they're a visual and logistical blight to the development of the West End canyon. I can't wait to see how the areas develop around big projects like this, as locations like this will certainly become magnets for further density.
  14. I gotta say, I dig the lattice design. I do not, however, enjoy the apartment towers with balconies covering every side. I think they look tacky and will age poorly. Oh well.
  15. Where there's a will, Tony G will find a way. Good for him on not giving up on making Nashville into a major metro with an impressive skyline.
  16. Thanks for sharing! This looks awesome. I can only imagine that this will spur more development on that side of town, as there is a ton of space to grow in the area.
