Met up with another UNCC Student at Old Armor Brewery, and we checked out the UNCC vs App State game on Tuesday, which was the very first game played at the new Kannapolis Stadium.  Beer was solid, and the stadium was great.  This will be absolutely transformative to downtown Kannapolis, and I think will quickly be surrounded by apartments on all sides.  With Vida nearing completion, and more apartments slated to be constructed along the Main St parcel overlooking the stadium, I think downtown will quickly become very vibrant, and if the Research Campus could bring in a few more players I think that Kannapolis could have a very balanced core that propels it forward.

New Cabarrus County courthouse walk by photos and from the highest point I could find.  This is huge for downtown Concord and much needed.

Big box warehouses are now spreading to Rowan County with multiple warehouse parks planned.

here is one is planned in China Grove off exit 68 off I-85.  It is huge 40 foot ceiling heights.  Over 1.4 Million sq ft.

Follow-up article on the recent townhouse community groundbreaking.  Apparently the city has received several parcels of land from Castle and Cooke.

A few weeks ago, when I met up with one of my friends from UNCC at the new Kannapolis ballpark, he mentioned numerous times how he could hardly all of the development going on there.  He is also a real estate development nerd, but had not been watching Kannapolis very closely (although I suspect that's changed now that he's seen it in person, lol).  Seriously though, nearly 600 apartments either planned or currently under construction in downtown, plus office, townhomes, retail, and entertainment....I'm not sure Raleigh even has that much residential being built in downtown.  Hopefully the Research Campus starts to get in on this wave of activity, because a sizeable employment base will go a long way towards giving Kannapolis a formidable core of housing and employment.

I think Midland with water and sewer is really going to grow.  Development jumped over to Stanly county and Locust and other towns due to water and sewer.  That was more of an issue in Midland but with that changing and its closer location to Charlotte and I-485 it will really grow.
