The Rockford Files thing was just a few months ago, I think.

I think those app based TV services require paid subscriptions.

Maybe not Freevee.

But I prefer watching shows on my TV with an antenna.

Tubi and Freevee are both free; you select the episode and/or season.  Pluto is free also, but it's based on a schedule, like cable tv, and all you can select is the station, unless you get the paid version.  They all have commercials.  Because of their success, YouTube is beginning to aire tv shows with ads to compete.

Do you have one of those HD antennas?  Amazon sells ones with a 120mi radius for like $20 or so.

I rotate between antenna, my Firestick with Pluto, Tubi, and Freevee, and my Apple TV with a couple of paid subscriptions to Disney+ and Netflix/ Hulu

I cut the cord 6 years ago or so.

his poll numbers are already up as high as they can go.  he can just sit on a toilet and take a dump as a campaign motto and people would still vote for him, over some woke-a55 socialist hell bent on destroying the country (or state).

Until he is on stage with Trump. And then DeSantis will look like little Marco all over again.

Thanks for the info.

I'll check out those services.

Dailymotion is another good one, especially if you like British sitcoms aka "Britcoms".

I've been strictly free via antenna TV since 2003.

For about ten years I've been using this style....

Screenshot-20230406-123501-2.jpg

I use an  A/C powered amplifier with it as well. Makes a big difference.

As for it being "HD",  contrary to popular belief, there is really no such thing as an HD antenna or even a digital antenna.

According to Channel Master (who I bought my antenna from) and which is something I know to be true from experience you can use any old antenna that's designed well and it will pick up any available signals within its range.

I used my old style antenna for awhile after TV went digital and it worked.

true. I first learned about "HD" antenna stations from a cousin in...you guessed it...Chi-town, back around the early 2000's.  It was news to me.  I hadn't thought of antenna tv since the days of Atari.  Then I learned the misnomer and marketing about "HD" labels.

Yeah, your antenna is hardcore.  the stuff I've seen looks like a hollow book that probably has a mile of copper wire wound around within it.  those are also powered...but, there's nothing like the style of the one you've got.

I first learned of internet tv from that channel on antenna called Comet.  I found it online.  Then, I found a reference to Pluto (b/c of similarly broadcast shows).  Then that led me to a wider search... THen I talked with friends that had cut the cord before I did who told me about Tubi and IMDB TV (which became Freevee).  Etc, etc.

Actually that's based on a very basic design called a "bowtie" antenna.

Mine is a "two bay" but they make "four bay" models, too...

61Jb9quSZrL.__AC_SX300_SY300_QL70_FMwebp

Two - two bays side by side. Each grid being a bay.

You can get more directionality out of them by pointing each side in different directions.

Not as necessary here in Orlando because almost all the broadcast towers are to the east, out around Bithlo and Christmas.

Prior to the one I have now, I used a homemade one that I built out of a piece of wood with aluminum wires bent at the proper angle and an old piece of wire fence as the back.

Ran it through an amplifier and it worked great.

yeah, see, strategy-wise, that's a toughie. how low do you go?

You can't out low Trump. It is almost impossible. And DeSantis does not seem quick on his feet like Trump is.

Add that Trump is attacking DeSantis on legitimate policy issues that are are his (DeSantis) weak spots.

I know DeSantis wants to be president but Trump ends careers of politicians that are republicans. The problem with DeSantis is his career will be over if he loses to Trump. What is next for him, Senator? He will have to primary Scott or Rubio.

That's why I'm hoping all Trump's  trials and legal issues move very slowly through the courts.

Long enough to damage him outside his hard core base and kill his chances for a reelection win, while also taking DeSantis and the rest of them out of the primary picture.

After that it would probably be over for him anyway as he'd be in his 80's come the next Presidential election.

Assuming he isn't in prison by then.

I'm not sure "loser" quite covers everything DeSantis is.

I could think of a few more choice words to add.

Starting with "jackass" and working my way down.

I don’t know what the GOP’s long term plan is with a DeSantis that’s younger and bold while Trump is much older and his two pump and dump, which I thought only stretched to 2020, evidently will stretch to 2024.  I guess he’s pretty healthy.  Trump may hate DeSantis’ guts…

But, at the end of the day, DeSantis did go to Yale, and we all know from the days of W and Kerry and 322, we really don’t know what’s in the cards for these candidates.

They will move slowly thru the courts, and this is what Trump wants (and the GOP).  And you know the reason…its because the “witch-hunt” narrative will still be alive during the election.  It is not a black eye on trump, rather, it is a war cry for the right (and some centrists) that see a “political persecution” happening here in the US before their very eyes.  That’s the narrative; that’s the rhetoric whether you agree with it or not.  Gutfeld show said it best when they pointed out that nobody was even talking about trump for the past two years until this.

You gotta cut emotions out of the analysis when you ask:  who was really behind Bragg bringing this indictment knowing the political dynamic at play?  Bragg is a role player.  Democrats believe justice is served and republicans believe it’s a witch hunt, and both fear the setting of a new precedent for political persecutions.  that’s the narrative.

You apparently still believe in the political system whereas I don’t.  I think this was contrived and agreed upon by both parties using the media machine to push a narrative.  This is what’s going to get trump elected.  And, it will still be going on…because it has to; there has to be drama to cause division.

It’s drama.  If someone has the right ideas, they shroud him in controversy to keep it 50/50; if someone has the wrong ideas, they make him a nice guy to keep it 50/50.  Meanwhile they pass what they want to pass during the media distractions which they create.  There’s no such thing as random or coincidence.  It’s what they do and what they’ve always done; it’s just a little bit more obvious now than it was in decades past (at least it’s obvious to me).

And for the record, I don’t believe for a minute that Hillary had that medical condition that kept her from campaigning a lot in 2016, and I don’t believe in Biden’s “senility;” The only thing I can with certainty say is that Kamala Harris is hot and that Biden is white and that Trump for whatever reason loves the look of spray tan; must be a Snooky fan.

Well, as I've pointed out before, the only ones who are buying into and getting fired up by this BS "political persecution" narrative, are Trump's hardcore right-wing base. Yeah, maybe a small percentage of centrist swing voters are too, but very likely not enough to carry him to another election victory.

The political affiliation breakdown in this country is more or less 40/20/40. Democrats and Republicans each get ±40% and the centrist swing voters account for roughly 20%. In order to win elections, one must get almost all of their base to turn out (the easy part) and then they must get over 50% of the middle 20%.  This has been verified over and over again through analysis of the results of past elections,

In 2020, Trump not only failed to win the middle, he lost part of the conservative base as well because many of them either saw what an incompetent goofball he is, or they were sick of the drama he creates, or both.

That's why I feel that if this drags on through '24, it will tank any hopes he might have of avoiding prison by suckering enough rubes into giving him the escape route from justice that he wants to use the Office of the Presidency for.

Too many people will be even more sick of him and his shenanigans than they are already.

Alright, we need to get something straight here for once…who and what they really are- Pride in your country and not being an apologist- well, Obama took a dump on that. And that’s why Trump was elected, because Americans got sick of that sh!t. He ran on the platform of a strong economy, term limits, getting out of bad trade deals, a strong border, infrastructure, etc., and ignoring the fake news.  He out-tweeted Obama. THAT’S who the GOP are.  THAT’S who the centrists are.  THAT’S who the left AREN’T.  But the left’s only move was to push the narrative of Russian collusion, which of course was fake like the fake news Trump had kept harping on.  Also, the twisted left took MAGA and said it was MAWA, which is a bunch of bullsh!t.  So now HE’s a colluder AND a racist. And an antisemite even though his son in law is a Jew.  What about his policies?  Oh, no comment on that one from the media.  So now the only move is the multi-faceted character attack and the continued mobilization of a corrupt DOJ.

Everything that the democrats, that The View, that CNN and all the insufferable haters of America complain about every day claimed about trump was FALSE.  And the whole world knows it,  And when I say world, I mean hundreds of millions of citizens that looked to Trump to be a strong anti-socialist for their sakes as well.

Tucker Carlson with the released videos from Jan 6 already flushed out the truth about that fiasco, which is what I mentioned here many times with the hearings involving the FBI and Lying Ted.  And I mention that because brain dead Biden has the audacity to call more than half the country domestic terrorists.  Who the he!! In the history of a presidency has ever done that?

So now enter Alvin Bragg, who’s campaign was to get trump, so he indicts him after the SOL has run on some experimental legal theory.   Well, people know the truth about that as well.  If you think prison is a realistic thing here, then you you are nothing more than a fanboy of the left in keeping that dream alive; of imprisoning someone who dared become president after Obama did everything to make America weak because America doesn’t deserve more and if you dare believe that it does, then you’re a racist.  Fox even exposed Soros money to fund Bragg’s campaign and to shut them up, the geniuses at CNN and The View are calling Fox antisemites (b/c Soros is part Jewish).  Seriously?

This isn’t democrats; this is leftism.  This is why I don’t vote that way.  It’s bullsh!t that caters to people that love bullsh!t.  And the people that eat this up have never traveled abroad to see how things really are in the rest of the world.

Here we go again.

All I did was respond to your previous post by discussing election dynamics re: the two major parties and the middle of the road voters who go either way. You respond back with yet another unhinged, rambling all over the place, pro-Trump/anti lib'rul ranting, raving screed.

Fine.

Tedious as it is, I'll once again do a point-by-point debunk of your scattered, irrational BS.

1) Patriotism and pride in one's country takes different forms.

With right-wingers, it tends to be all about waving the flag and hollering MAGA!!! and 'MURICA!!! the loudest. The right's patriotism is the equivalent of a football fan with his face painted and a big foam "#1" finger.

Shallow. Surface deep. Mainly for show but not heartfelt.

The left's pride and patriotism tends to go deeper and is more concerned with fairness and assuring that everyone is treated equally under the law. IOW, it gets to the true intent of the Constitution. Something the right despises.

2) Obama never took a dump on anything other than the bigotry of a majority of the far right. Even right-wing commentator Joe Rogan recently stated that Obama was one of the best Presidents of modern times in terms of his dignity, temperament and respect for the office.

What right-wingers are too simple minded to understand, is that there is no shame in criticizing ones country when that criticism is honest, from the heart, constructive and intended with the good of the country in mind.

This gets back to what I said above about the right's shallow, immature style of what they mistake for patriotism vs the left's deeper, more mature, intelligent adult level of genuine patriotism.

I guess that's why Trump is so popular with the far right. He's a plastic phony and so are his supporters. Phonies love other phonies.

3) Trump got elected because 77,000 malcontents in three states... Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, decided they were going to send a "f**k you" message to the Democrats and they figured Hillary (who got more votes than Trump) was going to win anyway.

THAT^^^ is what handed Trump the 2016 election.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/weekly-standard/the-election-came-down-to-77-744-votes-in-pennsylvania-wisconsin-and-michigan-updated

Michael Moore famously released a public warning about it before the election and it 100% came to pass. This is a verified matter of record. Trump's surprise victory had nothing to do with policies or the culture war crap he ran on.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/donald-trump-president-michael-moore-warning-biggest-f-you-in-human-history-a7406311.html

4) The FBI, CIA and NSA all felt there was highly credible evidence that the Trump campaign had ties to Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin. Just because Trump's team of professional grifters and con artists covered their tracks well enough so that the "smoking gun" standard could not be met to bring charges, does not in any way, shape or form mean that the Russian collusion narrative was false. Mueller made it a point to stress that in his report.

Of course Trump, who is the biggest LIAR in the history of American politics, says the report exonerated him, so his loyal puppets repeat it like his good little mindless servants.

5) I never considered Trump to be overtly racist. I've always felt Trump loves anyone who supports Trump no matter their ethnicity.

OTOH, I'm sure he would happily make racist overtures to placate the bigoted majority on the right if it suited his political agenda.

What Trump is, is a soulless opportunist.

As for having a Jewish son in law, it's pretty absurd and naive to assume that would mean anything in terms of his lack of respect for Judaism....

https://www.haaretz.com/us-news/2022-09-29/ty-article/fudgeing-shabbat-trump-reportedly-irked-by-jared-kushners-lack-of-availability/00000183-88a6-d06a-a3e7-b8e7214a0000

6) Aside from his xenophobic border and immigration policies designed to get the support of the drooling, hard core right-wing bigot crowd, Trump's policies were nothing special or over and above any other President's policies. Obama handed Trump the best economy in a lifetime and Trump took a dump on it just to give himself and his fellow billionaires a generous tax cut.

There is always a mixture of hyperbole and truth in any ideological argument on either side and those who take the argument to extremes. That is true of the left and the right.

Probably more true of the right, but the left has been catching up.

Still, no accusations or allegations made against Trump or the right or the right's fascist style of governing are tantamount to America-hating or have ever been proven false. Your claim that they are is just more of the usual adolescent rah-rah cheerleading your side specializes in.

Those cherry-picked videos didn't fool anyone other than fools who believe Carlson's BS. They're a joke just like he is. There are literally hours of video showing the violence and rioting and forceful, illegal entry into The Capitol that you have to completely and intentionally ignore and pretend don't exist in order to buy into the BS narrative you just spewed. No wonder no sane people take your ilk seriously.

And Biden is correct in his assessment of anyone who supports the pro-Trump MAGA crowd who violently invaded the US Capitol on 1/6/21. Anyone who supports that crowd and what they did, supports domestic terrorism and are by virtue of that support, domestic terrorists themselves.

As usual, anyone who attempts to hold Trump accountable to the rule of law has their motives trashed by the Trump cult. This always occurs before the facts of any case against Trump are fully known to the public.

I do not make predictions on the outcome of such legal affairs because I understand the folly of that. But if you think Trump has done nothing to merit the charges against him, then you you are nothing more than a fanboy of the MAGA cult in keeping the Trump Part Deux - The Sequel dream alive.

And "Oh Boy, look!!! It's yet another Soros allegation from Fox Fake News, the network whose own top man and CEO was forced to admit under oath that the Fox talking heads are all LIARS!!!"

Soros being the right's favorite boogeyman anytime they need a convenient scapegoat to divert attention to.

And yet here you are, parroting Fox Fake News as if that never happened.

Certainly leftism has its flaws. The extremist form of it, anyway.

But so does the right, though their flaws are so much greater in numbers and lower on the scale of decency.

Extremism in anything is a mistake.

I will say that elements of both sides serve up their own brand of bulls**t which caters to people who love bulls**t. If you can't see that both sides are guilty of it to varying degrees, then you are one of the aforementioned lovers of bulls**t.

As for your last comment, how would you even purport to know such a thing? The notion that only right-wing conservative Trumpers have ever traveled outside the US is so patently absurd and ill conceived, that it isn't even worth laughing at.

You really should think about some of what you say before you post it.

I can't even figure out how that ^^^ has anything to do with what I said.

I could write an essay to some of the absurdities you wrote.  you're a liberal gas lighter.  it's a tactic not worth my time.  Luckily everyone sees through it.

Let's face it,  you hate nationalism, hence Trump.  Question: Who hates nationalism?  Answer: socialists.  What's my proof?  Do I need proof?  Please. I've got an entire century of socialism as proof  in Europe, Asia, and South America.  You don't have to hear about it on FOX; all you've got to do is open your eyes and be well read and well rounded with world politics as opposed to wearing those horse blinders CNN mandates- "listen to us; if you hear anything contrary, it's right wing propaganda."  And if you have in fact been to those other countries like I stated, you would know it when you saw it and would surely not support it back at home.

your party likes to shame people for their skin color.  white privilege, BLM riots, censorship, antifa, defunding the police, border control, trannies brainwashing kids, absentee presidents, pandering to the left, shutting down domestic energy in favor of energy that lines the pockets of socialists and other governments abroad; political persecutions.  And you justify all of the above with the Socialist 101 tried and true philosophy of political correctness.

If you choose to redefine what I just wrote, please, by all means, continue with the gas lighting.

You and the rest of the knuckle dragger right don't seem to even know what socialism is.

You all hear it spouted off constantly by right-wing low foreheads, along with other popular but incorrectly used conservative buzz words like "gaslighting", and it just starts getting parroted because you all think that using these terms makes you sound all "edj-ee-kated 'n so-phist-ee-cated 'n shee-it".

You people ought to spend some time reading what socialism really entails before you toss the term about and continue to make yourselves look like a bunch of rubes.

The same with gaslighting.

If one is able to be gaslighted, then by definition it means that one was mentally weak, unstable or deficient to begin with.

Maybe the guilt which right-wingers are made feel about their overly simplistic, uncivilized views and system of beliefs, is more due to their own consciences rather than any gaslighting you falsely accuse others of.

But on the bright side, that would at least indicate that maybe some of you do in fact, actually have a conscience...

knowing what socialism is, is akin to knowing what cancer is.  In this case, socialism is a cancer.  and the key to fighting cancer is to catch it in its early stages, by recognizing it; catch it and start treating it before it spreads and gets out of hand.

you seem fixated on knuckle draggers and what they know about socialism.  well, they may not have first hand knowledge of what it is (like yourself), but I can assure you millions of immigrants coming here from socialist regimes over the past decades do.  Are you going to gaslight  them too, that they fled their homelands for nothing; that their belief that they fled a socialist regime was nothing more than a collective delusion created by FOX News?

That ^^^^ truly is one of the silliest things I've ever read and one of the weakest attempts at trying to sound articulate about a subject you are clueless on, that I've ever seen.

Well, when one is dealing with right-wingers, knuckle draggers are what automatically come to mind. Don't blame me.

Otherwise, there's nothing to be fixated on because I've never met one of you yet that seems to have an understanding as to what socialism really is. The reality is that it has become just another word that the right uses as as just another imaginary enemy to scare each other with and uses as a target for their anger and resentment.

Fascists always needs enemies to keep themselves and their fellow torch bearing mob members fired up and angry all the time.

Oh, look a conservative suddenly sounding sympathetic towards immigrants fleeing other countries. Quite a change of tune, isn't it?

And what "millions of immigrants" are you talking about? Which supposedly "socialist regimes" have these "millions" fled here from?

Mexico?

Aside from the fact your fellow righties hate Mexican immigrants anyway, Mexico is not socialist, nor are the majority of other Latin American countries, which is where most of our immigrants come from.

So either provide a source for your claims or accept the fact that once again, you are not going to be taken seriously.

And just to calm your fears, the US is nowhere near ditching capitalism for socialism and likely never will.

But that doesn't mean that certain minor aspects of the socialist economic model cannot or should not be incorporated into an otherwise mainly capitalist economic system. Because there are certain things that the government is better suited for than private enterprise.

The most successful economies incorporate a balance or mixture of mainly capitalism with a little bit of socialism mixed in.

The problem with conservatives is that they've been brainwashed into despising taxes along with the idea that taxpayer money gets used to help people who need it. So in order to gin up hatred towards government programs, the right has labeled them as "socialism", and then use the label to demonize them.

Conservatives have painted social assistance as this evil monster that's going to gobble up all your money, steal your guns and have its way with your women.

Of course, these same right-wing "socialism" haters are among the first ones to go running with their hands out, crying "gimme gimme", to suckle at the government teat when things go wrong for them and they are the ones in need.

Giant bunch of massive hypocrites is what conservatives are.

I don't have to "try" and sound articulate.  but you've proven from Day One when you gave the forum that talking points list of grievances against Donald Trump that you were just another easily manipulated useful idiot socialist hack suffering from TDS (to be fair, that post made you sound like an unhinged teenage girl having a tirade).

come up with a justification for true socialism.  until you do, you really need to take a chiil pill (or a toke) on how smart you think you are and how stupid you think everyone else is, because that is starting to get annoying.  I feel like I'm conversing with a fifth grader who just lost at a game of Halo 4 even though they cheated and thought they had the drop on me.

The US is a pseudo-socialist country already and has been since WWII.

Why shouldn't right wingers despise taxes or unfair taxation?  Do you even know why there is an 1R5 in the first place?  Or do you just accept it as being a foregone conclusion?  Or, because you get shamed into "caring" by the same group that supports taxation and The Fed, you do their dirty work for them (such as in your post)?  Until you research it, stop making general assertions about right wingers and taxpayer money.  You really don't know how things really work; you merely have last year's die-in and cry-in pamphlet to rely on from your party politick.
