Let's face it,  you hate nationalism, hence Trump.  Question: Who hates nationalism?  Answer: socialists.  What's my proof?  Do I need proof?  Please. I've got an entire century of socialism as proof  in Europe, Asia, and South America.  You don't have to hear about it on FOX; all you've got to do is open your eyes and be well read and well rounded with world politics as opposed to wearing those horse blinders CNN mandates- "listen to us; if you hear anything contrary, it's right wing propaganda."  And if you have in fact been to those other countries like I stated, you would know it when you saw it and would surely not support it back at home.

your party likes to shame people for their skin color.  white privilege, BLM riots, censorship, antifa, defunding the police, border control, trannies brainwashing kids, absentee presidents, pandering to the left, shutting down domestic energy in favor of energy that lines the pockets of socialists and other governments abroad; political persecutions.  And you justify all of the above with the Socialist 101 tried and true philosophy of political correctness.

If you choose to redefine what I just wrote, please, by all means, continue with the gas lighting.

I hate nationalism as well. It leads to authoritarianism way too often.

my point is simply that nationalism has allegiance to the country; socialism has allegiance to the socialist system, and will subvert said country in the name of socialism, which is what's going on right now in so many facets in our society with this culture wrs the left has waged.  And the other thing is that the middle class doesn't exist in a socialist society; only the elites and the lower class.  Wages, taxes, inflation, etc., see to this.  take it with a grain of salt...

Except nationalism ends up as pretext to convert to socialism. It is a tale as old as time. It starts off benign, "love of country", "we should take care of our own", "the elites are hoarding everything", "foreigners are taking your jobs". The next thing you know we all are wearing brown shirts wondering what the heck happened.

Yep. And I think what you described there, ties in or fits in to the way I described on the previous page, conservatives' brand of patriotism aka "nationalism"

It is the equivalent of waving the flag and hollering MAGA!!! and 'MURICA!!! louder than the next guy, or of football fans with their faces painted and a big foam "#1" fingers.

Shallow exuberance for their team. Surface deep. Mainly for show, but not well reasoned or heartfelt.

Nationalists cannot understand that it is entirely possible to be patriotic and love ones country, and at the same time, criticize it when one feels it is wrong.

Which is ironic, given how they hate and constantly criticize our country's government.

One of their slogans I've heard says, "Love my country, fear my government".

Apparently, they feel the two are completely separate, unrelated entities.

I think most of them are paranoid psychotics.

Baloney.

And one-sided baloney at that.

It takes two sides to make a war.

Here's the difference between socialism and what you might call authoritarianism:

DeSantis:  if you are grooming kids, I will pass legislation making it actionable.  Conservative: love your country, but keep your eyes open.  Trump: tell it like it is.

Socialist: don't ever tell it like it is,  if you are white, you are guilty just for being white, if you are a cop, we will defund you, if you are against open borders, we will shame you as a racist, if a tranny kills a bunch of christian kids, the tranny is the victim, if you are guilty of  certain crimes in big cites, you get let off scott free, America has nothing to be proud of because of slavery, pronouns are appropriate because we denounce gender, if you are a conservative at a liberal college campus, we will protest, riot, and shut you down, if you are a president that is conservative, we will censor you- at a debate, we will gang up on you, if you made a movie with white people shame on you and denounce it, the news is not fake and calling it fake is intolerable, we are for the minority and women but if the minority or woman is conservative, they are scum, if you are being attacked by a thug and defend yourself, we will prosecute you, print more money even though it kills the economy because it is for a good cause ala social welfare, give money to a communist country ala energy because it saves the planet which trumps capitalism (even though global warming is bullsh!t), establish a social credit score to manipulate and terrorize the public into compliance with political correctness and wokeism, call more than 50% of the country domestic terrorists just because they are centrists and/or conservatives.

Everybody sees it. Everybody knows it.  Only socialists convince themselves they are centrists because when an entire echo chamber thinks alike, of course its centrist and the actual centrist is labeled as an extremist.

you who are the paranoid psychotic, gas lighting narcissist.

I got through the first three lines of that mess.

I tried to start reading the rest, but I felt my IQ beginning to drop so I immediately stopped.

Thank God it feels like it's back to normal.

At any rate, I was able to pick up a few snippets just by skimming over it.

Looks to me like just more of your usual...   potkettle-2.jpg

well, I'm just stating current events.  except I forgot about that part about pushing for BLM protests while at the same time calling for gun control against law abiding citizens while doing nothing to criminals that PERPetrate crimes against law abiding citizens.  criminals are the victims; like that tranny in TN, right?

you can blah blah it all your want, obviously because it falls on deaf ears.

Florida Marijuana Campaign Collected Enough Signatures To Qualify Legalization Initiative For 2024 Ballot, Trulieve Says

https://www.marijuanamoment.net/florida-marijuana-campaign-collected-enough-signatures-to-qualify-legalization-initiative-for-2024-ballot-trulieve-says/

We'll see what shenanigans the Florida GOP will do to try to block this from appearing on the ballot. Also, I'm about 99% sure it will get at least 50% if it makes the ballot. I'm about 50/50 if it'll get the 60% it needs.

So..

I spoke with an owner of a prominent smoke shop downtown that's imbedded in the MJ and paraphernalia market, who walked me thru the dynamic at play here.  It is his opinion that if they legalize MJ, the 22 license holders in Fla will lose money. It's nice to blame the GOP but I think there's gonna be lobbying going on by those license holders so they don't lose their "exclusivity," because those licenses are even more expensive than  for liquor.  I thought that long before our conversation on it. So, we'll see.

Well, since it is going to be a ballot issue (providing something slippery doesn't happen in the courts), it will be up to the voters, right?

We'll also have to see what the dems do to try to block it as well. Obama and Biden have famously been very anti-marijuana as well, and we had more action on the federal level towards legalizing it under Trump then either of those 2. This really isn't a partisan issue, and I'd be surprised if this doesn't pass.

This is a money issue... if the state can make money thru it's regulation like CO has, then I reckon they'd push it thru.

DeShameless doesn't care about the increased revenue it would create. He only cares about appealing to the cultural conservatives who vote based on how anti-lib'rul a candidate is. If this gets on the ballot and the requisite percentage of voters vote yes, DeShameless and the puppet legislature will look for any hair-splitting technicality they can come up with to block its implementation, just like Scott did when voters passed medical marijuana.

Being that MJ is a major pain management device, I'll be interested to see who all the major players are influencing how things go.  I know people who can't afford oxy and certain mental health r/x and they smoke street MJ or r/x MJ.  One can showboat with politics to appease a constituency, but at the end of the day, Big Pharma always has a major say depending on how they themselves make money from it.

Maybe, but it looks to me as though, in more and more states, big pharma is having less and less of a say.

Time for Florida's Republican "leadership" to grow up and get with the adults on this issue.

Stop letting the Bible Trumpeters dictate everything.

I bet it's gonna come down to Medicare and group health and what they pay for in the end.

Are you talking about medical mj?

This ballot initiative is about just making it legal in Florida to buy, sell, possess and use it in smaller quantities for whatever purpose one wants to.
