Stone Avenue/North End

Anyone that walks along a four lane busy road is literally taking their life in their own hands. Just last night a pedestrian was killed on Pelham Rd. Too many people driving around impaired, drugs, alcohol and drivers texting, watching movies etc.

I hear what you’re saying and agree, but as a counterpoint: Church Street between Augusta and Camperdown actually feels rather safe with the lighting, trees, and grass between the wide sidewalk and the street. It’s all about the infrastructure and details. Reasons I only want to live within the City limits where these corridors exist.

It’s not the infrastructure, it’s the impaired, distracted drivers that is the problem.

Well, it is. My point is that the large trees, light poles, etc. are all obstacles that the driver will hit before the pedestrian. Impaired drivers can be anywhere. But, a busy street is more safe with the kind of infrastructure previously mentioned.

I wonder why they set building on Stone so far back, seems like it would have made more sense to have it moved toward Stone and more parking in the rear. Kind of a let down from where it started to what they are ending up with, hoping the restaurant that goes in there is a success.
