Legacy 2 today.   if a new company came to town needed some temporary office space while a new tower is built this would be the place if they wanted to be uptown.   You could open up in Legacy 2 and then move into a new tower just saying.

Hey look at that crown/parfait top of a building done right with no mechanical box sticking 10 feet about the top screening. FU Crescent my disdain for you is real  and want you and your investors to go bankrupt and loose everything.  Crap and more crap all over the city.

Have no insider knowledge however I think it will be another office tower at corner of Tryon and Stonewall on the grassy lawn.  

This is advertised in Loopnet an office tower at 600 South Tryon.  However this is a phantom listing put out there to attract interest and show possibilities.  I am sure LH is marketing it to office tenants and final design is fluid at this point.  Given the state of hotels right now I think that would be one of the last things developed on the 2 blocks as well as residential.   But I know this it will include more parking you can bet my parking hut on that.

This site needs residential or hotel bad or it will feel very office park-y. Needs 24/7 ppl interaction, not just 9-5. Considering that lot you speak of will have a direct connection to LU1, office seems to be the safe bet tho. All I ask is no giant lobby facing the plaza or streets on that corner.

The idea of a new hotel in this economy is a non starter and condo hasn't come close to being back in CLT...
