Yeah, it was about the 4-5 floor area and someone had to gain access to that portion of the building either via the Parking Garage, or the smaller neighboring buildings. If they've covered it, I'm so happy.

Was it Sent and Eagle and those guys? They've tagged all over downtown (I mostly notice the back of the Firestone, myself). I want to find out who they are and suggest that they change things up some, add some additional colors, really make their tags look good.

Then again, I like grafitti, though I've got no skill for the visual arts myself.

I'll admit, some of it does look interesting, but its a shame people dont respect other peoples property.

I have to be honest and say that I'm fairly glad that graf artists don't respect other people's property, at least in regards to the sides of businesses and large urban buildings. I always enjoy them, even the little crappy ones. Sort of an "I am here, I am an individual" feeling to them. But I know that opinion's not shared by everyone.

Of course not!! Everyone has the right to express themselves in a manner deemed lawful. It is against the law to deface the property of others. Just as you would expect someone to respect your home/business, shouldn't you offer the same respect!

I disagree with laws pretty often, and laws don't affect my enjoyment of art. Like I said, just my own opinion of it - and my home has been tagged, both the one I am in now and ones I have lived in before. Like I said, "in regards to the sides of businesses and large urban buildings." Graf is a part of being downtown. I'm not suggesting it's cool to go tag someone's front door, I just have a fairly relaxed feeling toward wall art.

I don't think graffiti necessarily has to be downtown. Murals are wall art, graffiti is often times vandalism.

Yep. I've got a dozen or so myself. Pretty much everyone I run with is decorated.

I suggested a mural for The Warehouse (the bar/pub) on Gaines..there's a huge blank canvas of a wall there right next to and parallel to the road, but the Get Gaines Going gang wasn't too receptive.

It's from '91........16 years ago.

It was around July or August. I just brought up the idea while I was giving a report on a survey of the area I did, the thought just sort of hung there and then we moved on. I have to give another report on 12.5...maybe I'll bring it up again.
