  1. 15 stories and they paid $22 mil for the parcel??? Seems way too small.
  2. I work at NC State and closely with housing and admissions. The past two freshmen classes have been much larger than their projections so it’ll take some time for that to show up these. Now I’m not sure how the graduate school is doing with enrollment, but they aren’t the students living in these types of developments, for the most part.
  3. Actually enrollment has grown by 8-10% over the last two years as more students accept admittance. If that keeps up, that’s just one of these buildings after 2-3 years.

  10. I'm not sure why Centennial Campus hasn't been brought up more often for some of the Amazon space. If we can link Centennial to downtown to midtown, that would be an excellent outcome.

  12. More good news for the Glenwood to downtown connection. For some reason I thought the hotel would be a "phase 2" type deal, but the article says the footings are being poured before year end and the website has it opening in 2019.
  13. Ok, so I'm pretty excited about this project. This would be the second AC Hotel in Raleigh, correct? Isn't there one at North Hills? And the mention of condos on the top two floors is good news. Seems like we might have small condo boom on the way.

  16. John Kane talked with WNCN a few days ago about the evolution of North Hills over the last twenty years and the need for transit. Also of note, it looks like he's going to tear down JCPenny and the old parking deck within the next five years when JCP's lease expires.

  18. An article in the N&O today about how the two new towers on Hillsborough Street fared in the appearance commission. One thing of note, the article mentions that North Carolina has a law prohibiting municipalities from legislating aesthetics. So really, we can suggest things, but not decree them.   21. I wonder if it has any affect on the city allowing stick construction in apartments anymore.
  22. This is a pretty cool building - not just aesthetically, but also from a technological standpoint. Also mentions other buildings in the pipeline for the 6 acre site including a 20-25 story building, some sort of "iconic" architecture to welcome folks to downtown from that side of the city, and space for 1-2 400 room hotels.
  23. And an updated on the MLS team, New Raleigh posted on Twitter that three options were rumored: 1)expansion at Wake Med 2) North Hills 3) Downtown Durham
