I know there was a conversation here a few days ago about the atrocity of painting historic brick white, but this is a very good looking white brick building, in my opinion.

She was there when I passed by this evening, tent and all.

What are the odds that we would be able to score this NBA event again in the future? Does it tend to repeat cities at all? -
I hussled past a very tall man in a very swanky suit in Overstreet today. It didn't dawn on my for 45 minutes that it may have been a famous basketball player. The native NYer in me just wanted him to get the -- out of my way.

Bearden Park in Third Ward, Uptown Charlotte

The sign in front of BOA center said it was called Where Angels Land. They've been filming uptown for a few weeks now. -
I have a similar design planned out, but back a little further to the edges of uptown. When I when the lottery I am all over it.

Not us. My employer will have the doors open during the apocalypse. I'll be sure to let everyone know what traffic nightmares they are avoiding since I can't do the same.

Hell no. These things have (obviously) been here for decades and are a small but nice part of uptown's history. I love these things. Not everything has to be shiny and new for Pete's sake. They're little sprinkles if the past where everything else has been destroyed. Everything that is now cherished as historical, antique, etc was once only slightly dated. Thank God for foresight and patience.

Thanks. I was getting a little confused.

Please don't judge me, but who is this and what happened?

Legacy Union (former Charlotte Observer redevelopment)

Just a side note...a family member did some serious digging and found a recording that my grandfather's quartet made here about 1917 or so. Charlotte was the place to try get your record made and they drove 4 hours (by modern travel standards) to do so. -
I certainly hope so. I rarely go to big events like that, but I love that particular energy and buzz (noise) major concerts can create.

I was going to say something about that picture looks very "somewhere else" but it makes me so proud of my little can-do town that I even thought that. -

And/or more use of the program that helped House of Lamond get a spot uptown. -

I don't live in those places. I live here. I'm the one who stood up for the FedEx on here when others were complaining about it - it's brightly lit and busy with foot traffic - so I'm fine without a grand shopping center downtown. Even the shoe repair place is passable. It's the gym that's beyond disappointing. If you recall, there was a funny take on the possible retail (Hobby Lobby, Big Lots, etc) a few months ago. I didn't join in because even though those stores aren't cool, they're still places to get the things you need. That's all I'm asking. Just some basic stuff, at the least. -
Any news from our resident supersleuths on Optimist Hall? It's already early 2019 and they don't look nearly done. Also wondering if there are any whispers of additional stalls, restaurants or retailers. I believe space for 19 or so stalls was the initial announcement, but there are only 12 being advertised.

Legacy Union (former Charlotte Observer redevelopment)

I don't know. There are many places I haven't been, and the places I do go, I'm usually on a mission with little time to explore. That doesn't mean I can't be irked by a friggin' gym when, as stated, the Y and Gold's are around the corner and every apartment in the area has its own gym, pool, etc. Not to mention my own neighborhood is crawling with gyms and it's a little ridiculous. In my opinion, it's a cheap, lazy way to fill a spot. I am Charlotte's biggest fan(atic) - I'd even be hard pressed to leave for a job opportunity. I have city centric things in the works that hopefully you'll all be able to enjoy one day. I'd just like some people who beat me to it to try a little harder and be a little more thoughtful about what we need and have been asking for for decades. -

Was this before or after the Midtown Mall? I remember the name, but cannot remember ever going there.
