I feel like with the YMCA's crane location they will finish topping out that building before going vertical on the residential tower? Seems like they would need to dismantle that crane to begin on the other portion.

Here is a late Christmas present to the forum. Rumor has it TDOT is now required to spend half their budget on improving public transit in Nashville

Here’s a video for everyone to watch while they’re stuck in traffic driving home today . Just kidding please don’t watch while driving, you might hit me while I’m riding my bike… Also this video is an absolute gem. It’s satire at its best.

Sounds like we need to do forum trip to Copenhagen to understand how there can be equity in transportation options. They do a get job of designing their infrastructure to allow cars, bikes, trains and walking. Most people choose bikes because it’s the easiest and quickest way to get around but you could certainly still have a car if you like.

Single family residential is typically more straight forward although remember it is not just the sidewalk. What you have to remember speaking in terms of commercial development is it not simply adding the sidewalk. They have stretched it to include the curb, gutter, sidewalk, stormwater infrastructure (including tie ins to the existing system) and right of way dedication. So they make you do a "sidewalk" but really it is more than that, the forced ROW dedication in itself is huge. This can be substantial along the major corridors and the government is getting that for free. Where we know from history the government is required to pay fair market value for land they take from eminent domain, they have not been doing this in Nashville. I am not aware of any other cities that have put the burden on the private sector to build infrastructure in the way Nashville has.

Does anyone know if the steel structure in the bottom of this picture is a boarding gate/bridge? If it is, it sure seems like it is large enough for group VI planes like the a380 and 747?

I can't figure out how the new passenger flow will work.. So you come off of departures drop off enter this grand lobby (which will be filled with TSA screening lanes??) then you go through a concession area?? then there are the international gates after that with the concourses on the right and left? It doesn't seem like the new terminal lobby area is deep enough to handle all of that? It would be great to see a floor plan if anyone has access to one?

Maybe someday they will extend concourse D all the way to the new satellite terminal and connect it with a bridge for planes to go under. That would be cool
